NASA and Florida's Economy

Today I want you to research at the beginning of class the effects of NASA and space exploration on the economy and culture of Florida. After researching I would like you to write a 5 paragraph essay on it. Each paragraph needs to be 6-8 sentences long. If you do not finish during class you will need to finish it for homework and submit  on the blog by midnight tonight (2/28/12).

  1. NASA impacts Florida’s economy in a lot of ways. Like a lot of people come to see the shuttle launches so it’s kind of a tourist attraction. It has sent 12 men to the moon so that helps our economy a lot. Nasa is going through a budget cut.
NASA impacts the economy because people from all over come to see the shuttle launches. The shuttles are really cool to watch because some people know the astronauts that are in the shuttle. The shuttle launches take place in cape Canaveral FL. And also they have a place where you can go in the thing the spins that the astronauts use.
Another way NASA impacts Fl. Is it has sent a lot of people/ satellites into space. So we see what space is really like and NASA gets money for doing this. NASA has also sent 12 men to the moon and back. So that helped the economy a little bit

NASA is going through a budget cut. This is going to slow the FL economy way down. Because NASA is going to have to lay off a bunch of people. So this means that there are going to be more people out of work. So that will definitely slow down Florida’s economy.
These are only some ways NASA impacts Florida’s economy. It impacts us because the shuttles take off there so people go to see the shuttles. And it sends a lot of things into space, and last but not least NASA is going through a budget cut so there are going to be a lot of hard working people out of work.

NASA has been in Florida for the past 40 years many have considered it a necessity to Florida’s economy. It has helped things such as tourism, jobs, and helped the infrastructure and development industry. But at the same time it has hurt some of these things too. NASA has done wonders for Florida and helped many people find jobs, and help them find a better life. NASA has also helped the world by helping technology in other areas in technology then space. Some things like medicinal and aerospace technology. NASA helps the ever growing world. NASA for future generations as it has now will be a part of Florida culture for many years to come.

NASA has been prosperous and helped many people become self sufficient. Tourism with NASA has brought many rich foreign tourists to come with alacrity to come and watch the historic space shuttle take off. Plus when they come to watch the space shuttle take off they generally go to do other things beside watch the space shuttle such as go to Disney World and enjoy her pleasures. The tourism and Earth can also lead to other things to such as people going to the moon or going to outer space according to the Florida space program. That way people will be spending more money to go do that and bring more money to the glorious sunny state of Florida. Tourism does not hurt the economy at the very least it gives it a big boost.

Jobs are a very important part of the economy of the state of Florida. In these troubling times people need jobs. With the space program starting to shut down many loyal employees who have worked at NASA are at jeopardy of losing their jobs because of this superfluous event. The government is trying to mitigate some of these thought so it will not hurt some people as hard as it will to others. According to space news some of these people will be able to keep their jobs by working with private sectors to help boost their research and it will help the people who are working in the tourist industry to keep those people safe. Jobs are good things that the people who do have them are blesses with it is very unfornate to see some of these job cuts.

One of the most positive things NASA has done to help the world and benefit mankind is to help with the development industry which relates to the infrastructure. The development industry has helped with breakthroughs in aerotecnology which could be used to help the military and air lines. They will help keep people safe aboard planes and have less chances of being able to crash. And even if they do crash there will be a significant drop in mortality rates of those dying. The infrastructure has benefited Florida greatly because they have to ship a lot of materials to go and help the construction of the space shuttles. The roads are greatly improved so that people like you and me can get around faster and much more efficient. And with people being able to build all these materials they have to ship them. Which makes it very beifital to people who have to the hauling industry? Devoplment has helped the world according to NASA.

Margret Mead once said “We are at a point in history where a proper attention to space, and especially near space, may be absolutely crucial in bringing the world together.” This quote symbolizes what the American people can achieve when they work together. NASA and space has been good and bad for Florida. But in the end the good out weights the bad. It has helped things such as tourism, jobs, and helped the infrastructure and development industry. These things will continue to grow while some will hurt for a little while but anybody can do anything when they put their mind to it. Remember what Heraclitus said “Nothing endures but change”. Florida will change but it will grow prosperous kind of change.

Today at the beginning of class we had to research the effects of NASA and space exploration on the economy and culture of Florida. NASA’s vision is to To reach for new heights and reveal the unknown so that what we do and learn will benefit all humankind. President Dwight D. Eisenhower established the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in 1958, partially in response to the Soviet Union's launch of the first artificial satellite the previous year. But today i will help inform you about how NASA has changed the lives of many people around the world! If you are interested in space exploration and would like to get involved in the NASA program you will need to start looking into different background jobs and opportunities such as medical doctors, microbiologists, geologists, physicists, electrical engineers.
NASA is employing many new faces and have introduced student employment in recent years. Students have the opportunities to help and discover new things right beside real astronauts. The students can help them by applying to work in certain categories such as internships, career training and volunteer services. The programs have many age levels and are mainly directed to high school students, you can be recognized by college scholarships and benefits! There are about 20 job titles and fields of work in the NASA space program.
Employees of NASA say positive things about there job along with great insurance benefits! NASA is a great program to work for, but are very serious about there discoveries! NASA states “Our work ranges from everyday operating of our facilities,to exploring the mind-boggling,furthest limits of the past, present, and the future of the universe.” This is the motto for all the NASA employees. NASA has about 18000 employees, but briefly cut down due to limited space exploration.
NASA has developed numerous amounts of technology and are still striving to invent more helpful tools. Computer World said this about NASA’s development,”Forty years after astronauts on NASA's Apollo 11 spacecraft first landed on the moon, many experts say the historic event altered the course of space exploration as well man's view of itself in the universe.” NASA has alot of goals in different categories and this is one of them,”One of the goals of space exploration is to discover these new inventions and new technologies.” NASA’s technology is ranging from sports wear to computer chips, this is another impact of the great program of NASA.
In one of the so many articles i read that NASA is everywhere even at farms, I though how could NASA be at a farm? I learned that at Belvedere Plantation in Fredericksburg, Va., mixed in with the corn stalks, pumpkins and hay was a healthy dose of space. Belvedere PLantation is one of seven farms across the U.S. taking part in a project called Space Farm! Which teaches students and kids about the studies of space and the great things that are in our solar system and galaxies around us.This is another great way NASA is impacting the society through discoveries and technology!

The effects of NASA and space exploration on the economy and culture of Florida can be very weight-bearing on Florida residents and other U.S. residents. Although those people who don't currently reside in Florida, feel the pressuring weight on our economy and culture as well as we do. The main impact is what it has on us as Florida residents because we hear about it every day in our society. The effects it has on our economy puts us in more debt and as a whole nation, we are digging ourselves a deeper hole financially. The effects that the space program in Florida has on its culture is that now that it has shut down, we have lost a valuable part of our history nationwide. These are some of the effects on how NASA affects our economy and culture as a state.

1981 marked the year that NASA launched the first space shuttle into outer space. The cost for this voyage to even take place cost 1.7 billion dollars to even create the shuttle itself. Let alone the cost to shoot the shuttle in space. With there being a total of seven space shuttles launched from this space program, a total of 11.7 billion dollars have been spent to build these shuttles. Never mind the cost to repair a shuttle if it broke before you even launched it. This is an economic effect that affected our nation as a whole but as a state, threw our economy completely off balance.

Another economic effect that NASA had on Florida was pretty basic yet very hard on people. After shutting down NASA's explorations to outer space, approximately 500 people lost their jobs that day. That knocks the percentage of the number of people that are jobless soaring high and off the charts. Words cannot describe how tremendous the loss of the NASA space program is to people who worked there. They worked hard for their jobs and worked really hard to maintain their position as a part of this space program. To take such a role in this job field would have been honorable in every aspect of the nation. To take part in one of the most honorable and important jobs that these men and women set their lives on working on is devastating for the ones that lost their jobs due to the shutdown.

One of the biggest effects that NASA had on Florida is a cultural type of aspect. Throughout many of the years that I've lived so far, I have always known about the NASA space program in Florida. I moved to Florida when I was eight years old and as far as I can remember, I always watched the shuttles that were launched from NASA. When the space program shut down, you can only imagine my disappointment. If you know what my reaction was, then you'd know how other people in the Florida area felt when they shut it down. I was devastated. To lose something as historic since the very first launch in 1981, must be hard on people who watched the first one get launched. The costs that came with building and sending shuttles to the moon, space, etc. were a bit large and I can't imagine the budget that people set on creating a shuttle. Therefore, I understand why they had decided to shut the space program down.

NASA and its space exploration had its effects on the economy as well as its culturally. It continues to have these effects every day. We can't fix what NASA did to our economy (financially) in under a few days. We can change what NASA did to Florida culturally. We may do this because we can learn to understand why and how NASA and its space programs were shut down. NASA will remain in people's lives but it's devastating to know that unborn children are never going to get the chance to see a space shuttle get launched.

  6. Here are a few things that NASA has done that is effecting Florida whether it is a bad effect or a good effect. NASA has helped Florida in many ways but now they are stopping for a while which is not helping Florida. Florida is the housing market and of the Great Recession. NASA provided agriculture.

NASA has helped Florida in many ways one is being putting people in a job that didn’t have one because of the bad economy. NASA is now making Florida worse because now we have a lot more people out of work than we did before. Which means that we are going to have to pay more on our clothes, groceries, cleaning supplies et cetra, just to pay for people that are unemployed. Also some taxes may rise. Just because we are paying for people who are unemployed.

According to popsci.com “the total NASA activities contribute around $4 billion a year.” The gap of the Space Shuttle program and the Constellation will most likely make about 8,000 NASA employees let go or relocated. Popsci.com says that “The Kennedy Space Center makes $77,235 a year” w about the twice the average of a county. Florida has had a problem sort of like this in 1975 at the end of the Apollo program which reduced the employment around the Kennedy Space Center. The Kennedy Space Center still remains as the designated site for launching the Constellation program. NASA indicate that the Constellation program will be far less ambitious than the shuttle program.

According to nasa.gov in 1950, Brevard’s population depended on the agriculture resource. New government programs developed missiles for defense which is when Cape Canaveral Air Force Station was constructed. Government contractor employees started to operate the Range and conduct launches. The crazy growth raised above Brevard’s population to 91,900 by 1958. Prior to 1960 they made many big expansions and it was to undertake the Apollo program. The population went very high to 247,500 in the next 10 years.

NASA has mainly helped Florida a lot for the better. Something that NASA has done has not helped Florida for the better. This is how NASA it’s self has made Florida’s economy better or worse. NASA has helped Florida in many ways but now they are stopping for a while which is not helping Florida. Florida is the housing market and of the Great Recession. NASA provided agriculture.

In Florida NASA plays a huge role. With only 15 facilities placed in North America the Kennedy Space Center is placed right in the center of Florida. This establishment impacts Florida’s culture and economy. Some in good ways, some in bad ways. It was said in the Economic Impact of NASA in Florida FY 2006 article that “The money injections come in the form of wages to local residents and the purchase of goods and services from local businesses and organizations.”

The NASA program has helped us discover more on earth’s history and beware of meteors. But it has impacted our culture through showing us that what was once impossible is possible. It is said by Steven J. Dick that “Finally, space flight has affected culture in multiple ways, ranging from worldviews altered or completely transformed by the images of Earth from space and the spectacular views of space from Earth-orbiting spacecraft, to a sense of our place in the universe made possible by studies of cosmic evolution and the search for extraterrestrial life, and the embodiment of these and other themes in literature and the arts.”

NASA also impacts our economy because like I referenced earlier it takes money from the local residents. Our tax money goes toward the NASA program. This could be a good thing, but they could also use that money to better our neighborhoods. In the article Economic Impact of NASA in Florida FY 2006 “The spending by the Visitor Center attributed to out-of-state visitors and the local travel expenditures of KSC business visitors’ resulted in a total injection of nearly $23 million dollars into the local economy in FY 2006.” This is the good side of NASA that supports our economy. Not to mention the jobs it supplies in the state our economy is in today, we need that.

As many pros as there are there is also bad parts to NASA’s program. Such as what i stated earlier about the how the money comes from our taxes. One thing that might not be the best about the NASA program is that we rely heavily on foreign providers. But with that NASA is opening an entirely new segment of the economy built to last, says the FY 2013 Budget Estimates presentation. This comes from the article Economic Impact of NASA in Florida FY 2006, “The monetary injections into the Florida economy by KSC and other NASA Centers to support space and research program operations at KSC were $1.68 billion in FY 2006.’ I think it’ll be an exciting year for NASA.

NASA effects everyone everywhere. The discoveries, the predictions, the jobs. NASA effects Florida’s culture and economy in much of the same ways. It makes them both rich with availability. NASA is sadly not launching anymore shuttles for now, but those who have seen it will always carry that with them. NASA has a positive effect on both the culture and economy.

As we all know, NASA was the space exploration society for the government. In the past, NASA has contributed to many discoveries outside of our planet. Many extraterrestrial explorations were made to seek out information on the Solar System and to see if we really are the only ones out here. Recently, NASA has stopped projects due to economy issues.

Now why has NASA caused economy issues? Well, let’s look into it. To start off, space exploration costs more than what we wish it could cost. The price tag on the research NASA conducts has to be at least $4 billion. The reason why the cost is so high is because every calculation has to be taken into accord. One mistake could cost them the mission and it would mean a lot of money went to waste. And its not like rockets that size can be bought at Wal-Mart for $20.

And you also need to think about what that means to Florida. The average citizen living in Florida doesn’t make over $50 thousand. The average NASA employee makes about $77,235 a year. This is supposed to be almost twice the average for the country and could shred up the economy in the state. This is why NASA is discontinuing projects until further notice.

NASA is the largest space exploration program in the world. NASA sends out satellites and space shuttles to help us gain information about space, launching them from right here in Florida. As you should know by now, the space shuttle program is shutting down. This could have a very negative impact on Florida’s economy. Here’s how:

Brevard, the closest county to the Kennedy Space Center, has gotten great economic growth within the past few years. Brevard’s bars, restaurants and small businesses have greatly benefitted from the Kennedy Space Center’s presence. This is because Brevard is home to most of NASA’s employees, and gets quite a lot of tourism. This will all change once the space shuttle program is shut down. The economy of the “space coast” will be hit hard for at least five years, when the constellation program is finished.

The end of the shuttle program will get rid of about 8,000 jobs. Some of these jobs will have to be filled once the Constellation program is up and running, in about five years. Until then, many workers are expected to leave the area and search for jobs elsewhere. About 14,000 other workers are also expected to be indirectly effected. The construction and housing industry of Florida is expected to take a hard hit as well.

There might be some complications when renewing the jobs lost from the shutting down of the shuttle program. The Constellation program will use a non-reusable launch program, which would mean there would be no workers needed for repairs between launches. Also, about one-third of the employees of NASA are up for retirement meaning that about 2,000 more jobs will be lost in the next five years.

NASA has given us great economical gain since it opened up here in Florida. It provided many new jobs and opportunities for business for the people liking around the Kennedy Space Center. Now that the space shuttle program is shutting down, the economy of the area will be hit hard. Let’s hope something can be done about this.

Have you ever wondered the effects of NASA on space exploration? Or why NASA is even important to the economy based on space exploration? Two very good questions. Well, three effects that NASA has on space exploration on the economy and culture of Florida are: That they have a positive impact on society, they have an impact on local government tax, and that they have a societal impact of the space age. Now, a lot of this may seem like nonsense. However, when you finish reading this it will all make sense.

The first effect that NASA has on space exploration on the economy and culture of Florida is that they have a positive impact on society. According to NASA, they have had a very positive impact on the economy over the years. Because of some beneficial inventions that they have invented with the help of other people. For example, NASA collaborated with Dr. Michael DeBakey to invent an artificial heart pump. In the words of Dr. Michael DeBakey, “NASA is engaged in very active research. It has as its goal to explore space.” Technology transfers have been the main focus for NASA since it was established by the National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958. This act states that NASA is required to provide the biggest and appropriate information concerning its activities and their results.

The second effect that NASA has on space exploration on the economy and culture of Florida is that they have an impact on local government tax. NASA has a program called NASA’s Stennis Space Center (or SSC). The SSC has a very important source of employment and income in the United States. If their was not a SSC, then there would be a decrease in employment. Thanks to the SSC the local government tax income has dropped to $132 million. According to the partners for Stennis, the operation began in 2008. The SSC estimated that the number of decreased employment would be 31,778 jobs.

The third effect that NASA has on space exploration on the economy and culture of Florida is that they have a societal impact of the space age. According to NASA, they have had many positive societal impact on the economy over the years. In the words of Marina Benjamin, who wrote a book called ‘Rocket Dreams: How the Space Age Shaped Our Vision of a World Beyond’, “The impact of seeing the Earth from space focused our energies on the home planet in many different ways.” Space has had more capability impacts on society. For example, the directions and the worldwide communications are all made possible by satellites. According to NASA, studies say that the idea of space exploration has been a part of society over the last 50 years. In addition, it has improved so much over the years.

In conclusion, NASA has effected space exploration in so many ways in history. NASA’s effects on space exploration in the economy has helped people understand things studied in our universe. I believe that without NASA’s help we all can agree that we wouldn’t know what was going on in our universe or if something bad was going to happen we wouldn’t know about it. If it hadn’t been for NASA’s effects on space exploration all of us could have been in serious trouble. NASA’s effects on space exploration whether it’s from the positive impact on society to an impact on local government tax has effected our world throughout the years. This is how NASA’s effects have changed the economy and culture of Florida. I hope this gives you a better understanding of what NASA’s effects on space exploration on the economy and culture of Florida.

NASA started July 29, 1958. Since then (about 50 something years ago), NASA has had a lot of impact on Florida's economy. Three reasons why NASA is such a huge impact on Florida's economy, It is a huge supplier of jobs, NASA brings in a lot of tourism, and NASA has helped with the technology and research.
NASA was a huge help in supplying jobs for Florida citizens. For the past 50 years NASA has employed over 30,000 people; according to "thebestplacetowork.com". NASA has recently been shut down; in Cape Canaveral Florida, and will remain non-operated. During the last operation of NASA, many people started to become unemployed. Five hundred and some odd people were laid off of their jobs because NASA has been canceled.
Over the last 50 years NASA has become really popular in Florida. Cape Canaveral Florida is home to the billion dollar space program. With NASA being apart of Florida's economy, it brings in a lot of foreigners. They come to watch the Space Shuttle launch, and possibly visit the NASA museum/building located in Cape Canaveral. When tourist come and visit, they usually stay for a good while, visiting most amusement parks, (Disney World), and other museums located near Cape Canaveral.
The last reason why NASA is such a huge impact on Florida's economy is, because it has lead us to new forms of technology and things like that. It has help us have better travel within space, and reaching space. NASA has researched, and found new ways and new things that could one day be very helpful to us.
Although our president Barack Obama finds the NASA program not helpful at all, and has cut off all the NASA research happening in Cape Canaveral Florida, we still found that it was very important when it came to Florida's economy. It brought several million dollars to Florida, from it tourist and it's wide range of research. NASA may not be functioning anymore but it was very important to Florida's economy over the past 50 years.

NASA and space exploration plays a major role in the economy and culture of Florida. Effects include positive and negative changes in the economy. Some positive effects are the increase of jobs of many unemployed workers in Florida. Space exploration can also help us be recognized as a state and increase tourism to space museums or sites in Florida. Major movements and discoveries in space can also lead to improvements in medical, technological, and other fields. On the other hand, many people believe that the government is wasting money by putting it into the space program. The education department is major area of government that needs funds. Money can also be put into discovering a new method of transportation instead instead of wasting billions of dollars in fuel and equipment for space.

NASA and space exploration has a large benefit to the economy but also has some disadvantages. NASA provides provides hundreds of jobs and without this space program, unemployment rates will rise. NASA not only has jobs within the actual program but it also creates jobs for people who manufacture parts, research new ideas, and companies that supply the materials. Space exploration and NASA centers in Florida also attracts a large amount of tourists from other countries and states. This assists the government because they get more money to help with debts or other departments.

One of the most important effects of NASA and space exploration is the improvements in medical, technological and other fields. New equipment has been discovered because of the space exploration program. NASA has a major influence on career fields and inventions. On the other hand, many people believe that the government is wasting money by using it for the space program. “The cash spent on NASA’s leaps for mankind is a pointless waste of money” says Gerald DeGroot.

This money used in NASA and space exploration programs can be used towards departments that need money and improvement. Education is a significant aspect of Florida that needs improvement in raises of wages and new materials like textbooks, technology, and online resources. Education is important and necessary for Florida’s economy to improve. Transportation is also a major problem because the world will eventually run out of fossil fuels. The government can devote a portion of the money to find new ways of transportation.

Overall, NASA and space explorations have both positive and negative affects on Florida’s economy and cultural aspect. Without NASA, many people would not have jobs and that increases unemployment rates. Tourism would also be reduced and not serve as a ‘bonus’ for the government. If you look at the other side, NASA could be putting this money towards education which is highly needed in some counties of Florida. Transportation is also a major area that needs to be improved.

The economy and culture of Florida has been greatly effected by NASA and the space exploration program. The space program started in 1958 in Florida. It was named at what we know as the Kennedy Space Center on the east coast of Florida. The Program brought with it many jobs and business. A wide range of scientist from over the country. A world of Knowledge.

The space program effected Florida's economy through jobs and business coming through the state. The industry provided Florida with billions of dollars. Pulling from it's 67 counties thousands of residents that became employees. About 7000 people were employed by the Kennedy Space Center, not including contractors and such others. Tourism to the space center also contributed to the economy bringing millions of dollars in revenue. It had a large bearing on Florida's economy when the state needed a large boost.

Florida's culture was greatly effected starting with the sputnik, moon landing. Then there was the explosion of the challenger which are cemented in peoples memories. There has been a great deal of social input as a result of the space program. Such as the affect on science, math, and engineering education. It also made California and Florida to become known as the "space states". The fact that the sight of space and Earth that were sent back from space gave us a different look of the Earth looks like.

The elimination of space program will differently effect the economy and culture of Florida. The economy by loss of jobs which puts a major burden in the state. The business that will no longer be generating revenue. The tourism that had brought millions will not be there. Not to mention the culture, the learning and the technology. It will take away the American pass time of watching the shuttle launch. A part of our very existence will be gone.

Florida's economy and culture was greatly effected by the space program. The economy was boosted due to jobs created. Also due to business and tourism. Are culture was enhanced by the new exploration and images of Earth generated from space. It gave a new perspective on everything outside of the world we live on. It broaden our scientific horizons.

  14. “The economic activity generated by NASA organizations in Florida begins, but does not end, with the direct purchases of these organizations and the wage payments to their workers. This first round of spending generates a secondary set of economic interactions in the local businesses that supply goods and services to NASA contractors and employees. These businesses, in turn, pay wages to their employees and buy goods and services from their own suppliers and the process continues through many subsequent rounds of purchases. All of these rounds of indirect activity are referred to as the generated impact of the initial KSC/NASA injections into the economy.” quoted bye Nasa.gov.

it affects florida’s economy by in 2007 it impacted it by 4 billion dollars. it also gives it 2 bilion dollars of house hold income which is 35,960 jobs. according to NASA.gov the tracing and accumulation of all of the many rounds of generated economic activity. That are set in motion by NASA’s initial stimulus requires a complex set of economic models that map the structure of the economy and the way in which the many sectors of the economy interact to support each other.

In considering the economic impact of Visitor Center spending in Florida, it is necessary to look only on the portion of the purchases and wages that went to Florida firms and people who live there. “ While all of the wages paid by the KSCVC went to Brevard and other Central Florida population, only 48% of the purchases was from Florida firms. In addition to adjusting for out-of-state purchases,” said bye Nasa.gov.

    NASA’s effect on Florida’s economy

Today I am going to talk about how NASA has put a hole into our states economy. The first thing i am going to talk about in this article is NASA’s spending on the space program in Florida and where that money is going. Secondly, I would like to talk about the spending of tourists and business visitors. Then last but not least, the total economic impact of NASA in Florida. These three topics are sure to bring light into what NASA has been doing with Florida’s space program. Now, lets get into detail about what NASA has been doing with the money Florida lent it.

The money NASA spends stimulates the economy of Brevard County and all the other larger counties situated around the central Florida area. These stimulations come in the form of wages to local people and/or businesses with the purchasing of goods and services from local businesses. In 2007 NASA centers injected 1.78 billion dollars into Florida’s economy. Then another 1.66 billion dollars into the Brevard county economy to help support NASA’s landing and take off operations. After inflation only 0.6% of a decrease in Florida’s economy and only a 2.3% decrease in Brevard county after being compared to NASA’s FY (Fiscal Year) 2006 results in the survey. Brevard county is the primary launch site for NASA’s space missions. To support these launches KSC (Kennedy space center) had 1034 separate contracts in FY 2007 that were worth 621 million dollars.

The spending of tourists visiting and business partners visiting also injects more money into the space program so it does not have such a profound effect on Brevard counties economy and Florida’s economy. Out of 1.5 million visitors 918,572 of them were out of state visitors. They contributed fifty two million dollars at the KSC visitor shop. Out of that fifty two million dollars twenty-five million paid the wages of the NASA employees. Another source of NASA’s income to stimulate the state were the expenditures that business clients paid.

The total impact in 2007 of NASA’s impact on Florida is four billion dollars. Although NASA made two million dollars and provided 35,960 jobs. This generated 206 million dollars in federal taxes and 91 million dollars of state and local taxes.

In conclusion NASA has provided alot for Florida’s economy. The Kennedy Space Center has attracted millions of people from around the country and the world. KSC has had some difficulties with money in the past but our states economy and our local counties (center Florida) have benefited from the space program. NASA has also provided more than thirty-five thousand jobs for our state.

NASA, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, was started in 1958 as a part of the United States government. It's in charge of U.S. science and technology that has to do with airplanes or space. NASA's located in a total number of 18 locations. The main headquarters are in DC. They also have bases in Maryland(Goddard), Texas(Houston), Florida(Johnson), Alabama(Huntsville), and California (JPL). Since I live in Florida, I get effected by the things that NASA chooses to do. It can be a good thing for Floridians, or it can be a bad thing.

NASA has done many things for Florida. Not only is it a main attraction to those around the United States, but it is very popular for Floridians to come and visit as well. This year, at South Mckeel Academy, the sixth graders are taking an overnight stay at there. They get a tour of what the place looks like, and see what and how they work the different machines. NASA has helped us to acquire more knowledge on our solar system, and science in general. They are so helpful, not just in Florida, but everywhere because they keep us safe from unidentified objects that are located out of in the skies and beyond that could possible hurt us.

Over the years, many missions have succeeded in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Six of the missions, Apollos 11, 12, 14, 15, 16 and 17, went on to land on the moon, studying soil mechanics, meteoroids, seismic, heat flow, lunar ranging, magnetic fields and solar wind. Apollos 7 and 9 tested spacecraft in Earth orbit; Apollo 10 orbited the moon as the dress rehearsal for the first landing. An oxygen tank explosion forced Apollo 13 to scrub its landing, but the "can-do" problem solving of the crew and mission control turned the mission into a "successful failure." There was a movies about the tragic, yet happy ending story about the Apollo 13 in 1995. If directed by Ron Howard. The film stared Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Bill Paxton, Gary Sinise, Kathleen Quinlan and Ed Harris.

The things NASA does is surely for our safety and also our interest, but our safety and interest come with a price. When we work, half our goes to billing, caring for our kids, and helping our community look great. Some of our money goes to NASA to pay off the expensive work, and repairs. The money that NASA spends in Florida to support its space missions and other research activities represents an enormous injection into the economies of Brevard County, the larger Central Florida region and the State of Florida. These injections come in the form of wages to local residents and the purchase of goods and services from local businesses and organizations. In FY 2006 KSC (Kennedy Space Center) and other NASA Centers injected $1.68 billion into the Florida economy and $1.60 billion into the Brevard County economy to support space program launch and landing operations at KSC.

We have many text books and websites to find out information about they skies and the solar system we live in. The main source of getting information accurately is NASA. NASA stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration. NASA is located in many locations around our country. The location closest to me is Kape Canaveral, Florida. NASA helps us in many ways, for example finding out information about our world and the things around it. Yet, there are some negative effects, for instance, how high the cost is for equipment use.

  17. NASA has a big effect on the culture and economy of the state of florida because a lot of people come from all around the world to see the Kennedy Space Center. This makes tourism in the state go up helping out the state economy and bringing more money into the state of Florida. This affects the culture by causing people to visit the space center and watch the launching of spaceships because it has become part of the life of the locals. They more than likely take off of work or school to watch the launching of space craft because it has become a way of life.
the annual revenue that the space center brings to the state of Florida is 1.68 billion, the direct spending was in brevard county were the space center is located. People buy alot of stuff from these places that causes the money to go into the local economy. there for that is how the local economy gets most of the revenue 1.06 billion in 2006. Many hotels also get business when launches or major events are in the area, also restraunts get alot of business.

Jobs are created when people come to these places, without the Kennedy Space Center and NASA many jobs would not be available for the local workers. This helps with the poor economy that the nation is struggling with now, without these jobs there would be alot of people in the unemployed mark of the state. with the extra jobs that is a more group of people who can afford to spend money in other areas to help the total economy of the state of Florida.

NASA has changed the culture of the state of Florida because many peole take off of work or go out of there way to go to launches or major events at the space center. any people who are locals like to visit the space center and take there kids, This is very close to manys peoples house. Many schools go on field trips to learn about this because it is local for many schools and it serves as a good way to teach students about the space program.

Without the Kennedy Space Center and NASA our economy would probaly lack in what it does not this space center brings in a huge revenue into the state of florida and in the separate counties. For many people this center has become a way of life, wether its a job or just being a big fan or specator. The space center does alot of good for Florida, it would be hard to have the economy as good as it is now without the space center.

  18. There are a lot of effects from NASA and space exploration on the economy and culture of Florida. In some ways it makes the economy better and in other ways it makes the economy worse. It also has a great influence on the culture of Florida. There are so many effects from NASA and the space exploration that it is hard to cover all of the topics. The main topics are the economy and culture though. The economy and culture of Florida are the most important effects from the space exploration too.

The good effects on the economy are simple. The space exploration and NASA bring in people from other states around the United States to watch the space shuttles launch. This brings Florida’s restaurants and hotels revenue because someone from another state is not going to just come watch the space shuttle take off then leave right away. The tourists may go sightseeing, go to the beaches, and eat out a lot. A family is not just going to come and not eat out unless they are an extremely healthy family that only eats vegetables and fruits. So the space exploration and NASA is a good part of the economy.

But there are also bad effects on the economy because of space exploration and NASA. NASA has to pay for the research and technology use. This costs Florida a lot of money each year and hurts the economy because of it. NASA also has to pay all of the people that are working for them. That is a lot of people to pay. The people that work there get good salaries too because they are working with NASA.

There are also good effects on the culture of Florida. Because of the space exploration and NASA Florida gets a lot of tourists. Having NASA and the space exploration program in Florida also is a good way to pull more people to Florida to live. With everyone coming in and out of Florida with all of the different cultures it leaves and effect on Florida. The different cultures come and leave an imprint on each part of Florida. When the new world was being settled into there were also different countries and languages
that fought and settled in Florida.

There are also bad effects from the different cultures that NASA and space exploration is bringing into Florida. With so many different cultures coming in and out of Florida because of the space exploration and NASA Florida starts to lose the ties that it had originally. The NASA and space exploration has good and bad effects on Florida. Some effects are better or worse than others. Yet the good and the bad equal themselves out. There is not one that is better than the other one in my opinion they are both equally good and bad effects.

N.A.S.A has a space center here in Florida. It is located in Orlando, and has sent many space shuttles into space. Recently it had to shut down some programs due to funding issues. Yes, the space center does get money from taxes and other ways through the government. But since the recent drop in the U.S.A’s economy, parts of it had to be shut down. There is a couple ways that N.A.S.A effects Florida’s economy, like the unemployment that they recently had to do, in 2006 the monetary injections into the space center were 1.68 billion.
The recent economy drop in the last few years has done things to N.A.S.A. They had to shut down a few programs which in effect caused 1,000 of people to be laid off. That may not seem like a lot but each one of those people could lose their houses, not be able to pay for food, and so on. So that is not only hurting N.A.S.A its effecting the workers too.
In 2006 the monetary injection in the Florida Kennedy Space Center was 1.68 billion dollars. The United States is over 13 trillion dollars in debt so that is just digging the debt hole even bigger. This is just one more thing that we have to look at, but if we terminated it we could start paying off our debt a little faster. If we were paying that much in 2006 it probably has grow since then so were just going deeper into that hole.
In conclusion N.A.S.A is bad for Florida’s economy for two reasons. They are they had to lay off 1,000 workers, and in 2006 the monetary injections were 1.68 billion dollars. Those are just a few reasons why it’s bad for us. But all the effects aren’t totally bad. There are some though.

NASA and space exploration has had a major impact on Florida’s economy and culture. Space exploration costs large amounts of money to construct the space craft. Although we can find new discoveries that we could use towards research such as finding a planet that can support life. Other reasons why space exploration is important is because we can be aware of what is in space and what could be heading towards Earth. We also use NASA to put up satellites for our connection for cell phones, TV, Internet, etc. Due to this satellite, we are able to communicate all over the world.

Space exploration could lead to some many discoveries about life and how it formed. The exploration could possibly answer questions like how life began and are there inhabitable worlds with life in another galaxy. It could also answer how life developed in the solar system and the characteristics of the planets. Also the world is getting more and more populated as the population continues to grow. Exploration could possibly find a planet that can support life and the needs to live. The is essential in the future to ensure the survival of the human race.

Although space exploration is known to cost a huge amount of cash. Money is one of the main concerns about exploration and if it should be continued. The more money is put into space stations, the less the children’s education and medical research is available. Also the exploration is known as being very risky task. We are risking the lives of the astronauts. Also we could discover something that could be harmful to for living things on Earth.

I’m not sure on what side I am on when it comes to whether it should be continued or not. I do believe that it is important to do space exploration because we could make huge discoveries like a habitable planet. Although space exploration wastes large amounts of money and could possibly not discover anything. Which means we have wasted money when we could have used it for medical research, education, etc. I think some space exploration should be available like for satellites but not for searching new minerals. I think we should be limited on our capability because we are also risking the lives on astronauts and the money we would waste if we were to discover nothing.

NASA and space exploration have done great things to our nation. It has made a huge impact on theories and how life started. We have found out about Earth’s rotation on it’s axis and it’s revolution around the sun. Although, space exploration can be very expensive when it is put towards the stations. The average cost of building a space craft is usually about 1.7 billion dollars. Also we are putting the lives of the astronauts on the line and risking them by putting them out in space.

  21. When NASA first started in October 1, 1958. When humans first wanted see if we would survive going up to space they sent a pregnant dog. Once this dog returned to Earth she had already given birth up in space and came back with her puppies. After the dog they sent a monkey because they considered a monkey very similar to the human being. This is how NASA first started. NASA in Florida has been in our history for nearly five decades. On July 1, 1962, NASA officially activated the Launch Operations Center at the seaside spaceport. NASA's John F. Kennedy Space Center has helped set the stage for America's adventure in space for five decades. The spaceport has served as the departure gate for every American manned mission and hundreds of advanced scientific spacecraft.

Over the years NASA wanted to make a tourist attraction place for everyone to come. So Walt Disney offered money but said that NASA had to come up with something they couldn’t come up with. So they came up with technology and wasn’t shown in the world. In 1965, NASA used a trailer Tourist Information Center while the permanent buildings were being constructed. The trailer was located at the west end of the Indian River Causeway. A full-scale, high-fidelity replica of a space shuttle, dubbed Explorer, made its debut in 1993, alongside a gantry-style tower and a replica of an external tank mated to two solid rocket boosters.

NASA has employed large teams of scientists and engineers in managing its complex missions. But the agency has also encouraged the spark of genius that comes from individual inventors. Significantly, both ways of doing business have resulted in remarkable technical innovations that have served to advance progress in aeronautics research. Space science and space exploration as well as benefit people on Earth. “NASA is engaged in very active research. It has as its goal to explore space. But to do so, you’ve got to do all kinds of research – biological research, physical research and so on. So it’s really a very, very intensive research organization. And anytime you have any type of intensive research organization or activity going on, new knowledge is going to flow from it.”

The monetary injections into the Florida economy by KSC and other NASA Centers to support space and research program operations at KSC were $1.78 billion in FY 2007. Measured in
constant dollar terms this was a 0.6% decrease from the FY 2006 level. There were a total of 14,456 KSC workers included in this study (of 14,950 total population). 84% of the workers were
employed by prime contractors and 94% lived in Brevard County. The workers at NASA's Kennedy Space Center can reflect on 2007 as a year that celebrated the agency's rich history while adding new chapters to it. NASA over the years has made many great launches but has spent much money. All this money has been spent in a good way and purpose because we have made many great discoveries in the last centuries.

Even though NASA has spent much money on everything to create the Space Shuttles and everything included with it it has also made a good impact in our history. When NASA first started it was something great to our world. Many people were in love with it and still are. NASA has also helped our community be a better place. It has had much of our technology be improved and scientists have made many discoveries. NASA has its positive and negative things to it but at the end it has made part of our history and will always be a huge part of our technology.

NASA has been apart Florida for 40 years now. It has helped Florida with many things such as tourism, jobs, and development industry. NASA has done wonders for Florida and helped many people find jobs, and even help them find a better life. NASA has also helped the world by creating technology in other areas of technology then just space. Some things like medicinal and aerospace technology. NASA for future generations as it will now be a part of Florida’s culture.

NASA has helped many people become self sufficient. Tourism with NASA has brought many foreign tourists to come with excitement to come and watch the space shuttle take off. Plus when they come to watch the space shuttle take off they go to do other things such as go to Disney World and enjoy his/her pleasures. The tourism and Earth can also lead to other things such as people going to the moon or going to outer space according to the Florida space program. That way people will spend more money to go do that and give more money to Florida. Tourism does not hurt the economy but gives it a big boost.

Jobs are on of the very important parts to the Florida economy. Within these troubling times people need jobs. With the space program nearly ready to shut down many loyal employees who have worked at NASA might have the possibility of losing their jobs because of this unnecessary event. The government is trying to mitigate some of these thoughts so it will not hurt some people as bad as it will to others. According to space news some of these people will be able to keep their jobs by working with private sectors to help boost their research and it will help the people who are working in the tourist industry and to keep those people safe. Jobs are things that the people who do have them are blessed with them.

One of the most positive things NASA has done to help the economy and benefit mankind is to help with the development industry. The development industry has helped with successful breakthroughs in aerotecnology which could be used to help others. NASA will help keep people safe aboard planes and have less chances of crashing. And even if they do happen crash there will be a significant drop in mortality rates of those that died. The support has benefited Florida greatly because they have to ship a lot of materials to go and help the build of the space shuttles. The roads are greatly improved so that people can get around quicker and much more efficient. And with people being able to construct all these materials they have to ship them. Which makes it very beneficial to people who are in the hauling industry? Development has helped the world all thanks to NASA.

Margret Mead once said “We are at a point in history where a proper attention to space, and especially near space, may be absolutely crucial in bringing the world together.” This quote symbolizes what the American people are able to achieve when they work together. NASA and space has been good and bad for Florida. but there is more good then there is harm. It has helped things such as tourism, jobs, and helped the infrastructure and development industry. These things shall continue to grow while some will hurt for a little bit. Florida will change but it will grow prosperous kind of change.

NASA has benefited our economy and has hurt our economy in different ways. So many things were discovered through NASA like the extremely small needle that was needed to inject a certain chemical into my little cousin when he was first born. According to http://er.jsc.nasa.gov/seh/economics.html NASA's budget totaled less than 1 percent of the GNP (gross national product)during peak activity in the 1960’s. The benefits of NASA are endless.

NASA has even helped create an artificial heart pump. They have saved so many lives. We have been benefited by NASA because of all their technological innovations and their knowledge of space. NASA has been in Florida for the past 40 years many have considered it a necessity to Florida’s economy. But we have paid a price for all this innovation many astronauts have died in the journey for this knowledge.

The end of the shuttle program hasl got rid of about 8,000 jobs this does not help at all. Thanks to the SSC (Stennis Space Center) the local government tax income has dropped to $132 million. Getting back to the topic job loss is was of the most negative affects on any economy you will ever see.Although NASA made and provided 35,960 jobs.

The things NASA does is surely for our safety and also our interest, but our safety and interest come with a price. When we work, half our goes to billing, caring for our kids, and helping our community.NASA Centers put $1.68 billion into the Florida economy and $1.60 billion into the Brevard County economy to support space program launch and landing operations at KSC (Kennedy Space Center).

Overall NASA has had its ups and down but has helped America to prosper. Eventually in time NASA will come back bigger and stronger and will be able to land a man on mars. That would be major for America’s economy and reputation and just imagine the benefits of that!

    NASA and Florida economy.
By: Hayley Phelps 7th period 2/28/12

The effects of NASA and space exploration on the economy and culture of Florida have a lot of different answers. That is why I am going to tell you some of the things that NASA does to the economy and culture of Florida. There are also many places that you can find this information. One really reliable source is the NASA website. There are also many different types of things that are going on in NASA. That is what I am researching.

    According to

http://www.nasa.gov/centers/kennedy/pdf/217899main_Economic_Impact_NASA_2007.pdf NASA plays a big part in agency exploration and discovery efforts. NASA is a big part of Florida. Economy wise Florida depends on NASA because it is a big tourist attraction and makes a lot of money for the state of Florida. This makes people want to come to Florida to see the Space shuttle and then they have to pay so that makes the economy increase because of tourism. NASA has many different programs about space which would help Florida because they would be making money. That is about the economy of Florida.

NASA created many jobs in Florida. If NASA didn’t give many people jobs that would really impact the economy. NASA also finds ways to make different things that help people in Florida do things better like doctors. Many people in Florida use different inventions by NASA because they trust them because they are a name brand. NASA is a trusted brand. That is what helped create jobs in Florida.

NASA also harms the Florida economy. If NASA closed then a lot of jobs in Florida would be taken. Which would make people become homeless. They would also be on unemployment which would make the state have to pay more. People of Florida would be in debt to.
That is what could happen in Florida.

In conclusion the economy of Florida could be helped by NASA. It could also be ruined by NASA. There are many ways to help the economy in Florida and there are ways to hurt it. NASA could do either. There is also ways to help the Florida economy. That is the conclusion.

  25. NASA has effected the economy by giving new technologies, warn us and keep us updated on things that happen in space, and help us keep track on weather. Without NASA we would not be prepared to evolve with new technologies. NASA has invented new technologies that help us find out more things about space and make it easier to receive this new information. NASA has invented the technology to cure breast cancer and tumors also. People are able to evolve with ne technologies with the info that NASA has given us.

The technologies that NASA has given was evolved to new technologies that does not take up more time to do than back in the day stuff. Before the new shuttle NASA wasted more than enough gas than the present day. NASA is currently making a new fuel to replace gas that are less harmful to the environment. NASA is also trying to make a space station up in space so they won’t be far from probes and spacecrafts. NASA is also testing a new craft that is supposed to travel to super sonic speeds.

Astronomers from NASA have predicted a lot of space activity to protect us from harm lots of times and these are some examples. One example of the predictions of astronomers are meteor shows. NASA has alerted to be aware of things out of the ordinary so that we are safe. Another example that is made up is if a asteroid were to hit the earth , astronomers would warn us in the area it will be hitting. The third example is that if NASA has found a new planet or if a black hole ate a star, the scientists would keep us updated.

Meteorologists get their predictions from non other than satellites. The reason that they have satellites is because of the new technologies that NASA and other countries have invented to make the satellites. NASA and other countries use shuttles to get the satellites up into space. NASA has been able to improve technology not fail during a mission or a very important exploration. NASA has also improve global images to catch big storms and where they will hit.

In conclusion NASA has affected the economy greatly because without NASA we would not have new technologies, no update on space, and able to predict weather. People are grateful for the things that NASA has given us.A world without NASA is like being lost in space. There is more to come from NASA than what we know today. NASA has also made history based on their discovery and the catasophy.

  26. NASA has effected Florida’s economy by the ways they figure out new things, new technologies mainly through the Kennedy Space center, and the jobs that come from it. All of these have to do with the economy of Florida and helping us. Through each process, it takes tons of work and effort. These also impact each of our lives with our education and the major part of our social lives too.

The first thing that has impact on our economy is the way they figure out new things. Through the many processes of making spacecraft to sending spacecrafts; then waiting for the results of new stars, planets, and many other things in our solar system. They usually come back with results that are life changing, mainly for our planet, so that we can know what’s happening. That also brings in new science books with the new outlook on things. All these thing helped us get to where we are today, with science books and many other things.

Second, the new technologies that they have come up with such as, new and improved spacecrafts, the satellites that have been sent into space, and the way we have had people land on the moon to figure out new things. These are the ways we get pictures of the universe and other galaxy’s out there, they show us visuals of the universe around our tiny little planet. The ones that landed on the moon were the ways they came back to Earth with the conclusion that there could be signs of water on the moon. The satellites are for the weather stations to predict what our weather could be during the week. Without it, we could be hit with a tornado without any insight to go to safety. That could cause many deaths in Florida because of its high hurricane and tornado number.

Third, the jobs that came from the Kennedy Space Center. According to the NASA paper on the statistics say that “93% of the output impact, 96% of the income impact and 95%
of the jobs impact occurred in the seven county Central Florida Region”. Which means that there were more jobs handed out at the Kennedy Space Center. Those jobs probably helped a lot of family’s in the Florida area. The income of those jobs helped them a lot. During a time of economic crises these family’s got jobs and ended up helping.

Now that you see what NASA has done to help out our economy. Through the jobs, the new technologies, and the new discoveries of new stars, planets, and much more. These things are what helps our economy be the way it is today, and we will have to see what they will find out in the future. As far as we know NASA helps us out more than we think.

  27. You might not think that NASA and space exploration affects our economy and our culture, but it does. NASA brings in a lot of money, but as of 2011 they stopped going into space. There are both, positives and negatives in the affects it has on us. Stopping these explorations has also changed the culture of Florida. Just because, launching space shuttles into space has been a part of our culture for so long. But, things have come to an end, and new things are being created. This all affects our culture and economy.

In 1981, NASA launched the very first space shuttle into space. It cost about 1.7 billion dollars to create one space shuttle. When there has been a total of 7 space shuttles, that’s an approximately 11.7 billion dollars. And that’s just the cost of building the space shuttles. Its 450 million dollars to launch. NASA has cost a lot of money for our state to launch 7 shuttles. So, it’s actually kind of a good thing for us to stop doing these explorations.

I'ts also bad to stop these explorations. NASA and their space shuttle launching has been a big part of Florida. Since 1981 it has been apart of our culture to stand outside and try to watch the shuttle from your house. Millions of people also travel to the Kennedy Space Center to watch the launch in person. And tons of other people watch it on the television. These explorations has gathered us a ton of information on the plants and the universe around us.

NASA and space exploration costs us alot of money, but it also gains us some too. From all the discoveries we have made, we are able to sell it to people to have the information too. Some things have been taken from the moons, and planets and that could be sold too. The space shuttle parts are sold to people as well. So, with NASA making discoveries we aren't exactly just loosing money. We are gaining it too.

In conclusion, It's a good and bad thing to stop NASA's explorations. Its good, because of the money it costs us to build and launch the shuttles. I'ts also good because it could save any lives that could be damaged, or gone because of a malfunction. But, its also bad. NASA has been apart of our culture forever now, and it's different to not look forward to it. Overall, space explorations affect our economy and culture greatly.

  28. According to NASA.GOV, “ In FY 2006 KSC and other NASA centers injected $1.68 billion into the Florida economy and $1.60 billion into the Brevard County economy to support space program launch and landing operations at KSC. After adjusting for inflation, these amounts represented a 1.2% decrease for the State and a .6% decrease for the county compared to their FY 2005 levels. This is the first decrease in constant dollar terms since 2003.” Locations of NASA spending in FL, is mainly on Brevard County, in which all together KSC and other eight NASA Centers spent $1.68 billion in FL in FY 2006. “94% percent of this spending was for awards to on-site/near-site contractors and wages to on-site Civil Service and contractor workers. Total direct spending in Brevard County was $1.60 billion. Direct spending in other Central Florida counties and other counties in Florida totaled $20 million and $55 million.” These statements proves that the NASA exploration takes a very important role in Florida’s economy.

NASA holds another important place in Florida in terms of culture. According to askmagazine.nasa.gov, cosmic evolution and the search for extraterrestrial life, and the embodiment of these and other theme in literature, politics, and arts are where NASA influences a lot in culture. Astronomers and the space studies influences a lot people in many different ways which would definitely reflect on the culture of that state, so did Florida’s cultural impacts. By looking at astronomers, people gets exited and more people would have a desire to become astronomers on which most or at least few of them make it happen. Eventually what will happen is NASA will end up exploring many space programs and starts getting new in formations which will end up changing the whole societies view about it and changes the whole believes and cultural characteristics about the topic. Marina Benjamin argues that, “The impact of seeing the Earth from space focused our energies on the home planet in unprecedented ways, dramatically affecting our relationship to the natural world and our appreciation of the greater community of mankind, and prompting a revolution in our understanding of the earth as a living system.” This proves the above statements, which talks about cultural changes.

In conclusion, NASA reflects their ideas, issues which deals with space craft’s economical issues, and cultures in many different ways. The five topics listed above in the introduction which was, NASA Operations at KSC and Elsewhere in Florida, NASA Space Program Spending In Florid, Monetary Injections into Florida Economies, Total Economic Impact of NASA in Florid, and impacts on culture; All shows how each one effect on the economic sector of Florida or the cultural sector. Money spent on space programs definitely helps the generation a lot in terms of knowledge and technologies, but some fail mission crafts will drop/ effect the economy. This part is when people have to pay more on their purchase goods and services. Also, those will show its impact on businesses and households that were not directly associated with the space industry. The main point of this is, NASA holds many good part as well as the part in the economy, on which the local residence have to suffer, and finally, NASA impact on cultures in many ways which could change the whole world’s believes. So these are the effects of NASA and space exploration on the economy and culture of Florida.

  29. At the beginning of class today we had to research the effects of NASA and space exploration on the economy and culture of Florida. There are many effects of NASA, some good and some bad. One is their technology. They want to improve the technology to make sure they don’t loose the astronauts while they are in space. However their technology is always changing and being improved. Using technology for space has actually increased the technologies we have today, so if we never had NASA we most likely wouldn’t have a lot of what we have today.

Another thing NASA has done for Florida is help people with jobs. If we got rid of NASA then a lot of people would be out of a job. And it could really hurt our economy, especially at the stage it’s in right now. However, they are trying to not completely fire their staff but for them to work privately or have smaller tasks. Jobs are one of the most important things in Florida. Another thing is taxes may raise, to pay for all the people that are unemployed.

Tourism is another big thing with NASA. It has brought many rich foreign tourists, to come see the shuttle launch. But of course when they come down they go to the theme parks such as Disney, Epcot , and so forth. They spend a lot of money as well, so it helps with the economy in Florida. After seeing the people go into space the tourists also may want to go to the moon or get a job there if there interested. As you can see it leads to many things.

In conclusion, NASA obviously has impacted Florida very much. And we wouldn’t know what we would do without it. It may have some bad effects on Florida, but overall it’s great. It kinda started everything, it has a lot of meaning to Florida’s culture. NASA helps the economy with jobs, helps tourism, and with technology. It has improved a lot over the years.

  30. THIS IS MY INTRO AND SECOND PARAGRAPH

NASA and space exploration programs impacted in many different ways on the economy, and culture of Florida. On the economy of Florida, NASA plays both beneficial and harmful roles. Few of the many effects and impacts to Florida’s economy is, according to NASA.GOV, NASA Operations at KSC and Elsewhere in Florida, NASA Space Program Spending In Florid, Monetary Injections into Florida Economies, Total Economic Impact of NASA in Florid, and impacts on culture. These five topics plays very important roles, and these are the fundamental factors or effects that NASA plays in Florida’s economics. According to “askmagazine.nasa.gov”, Space flight has affected Florida’s culture. Getting to know more about these four fundamental topics are the coming paragraphs.

Based on NASA.GOV, KSC ( Kennedy Space Center) holds very important role with the formation of the constellation project and a significant increase of activity in FY 2006. Its project budget increases over the next few years, really will pull/ effect Florida’s economy. There are many activities from NASA that directly associate with KSC, that could add to its economical impact. This is more likely to include “local travel expenditures of out of state business and government personnel who travels to KSC to conduct business.” KSC which is located in Florida actually gets good income from the visitors, which benefits FL economy. The money that NASA spend on space programs or other research activities shows a big injection into the economies of Brevard County, which is the larger Central Florida Region and in the State of Florida. These injections affects local people in their wages and in other purchase of goods and services from local business and organizations.

  31. During WWII, there was may missiles coming to explode America. These missiles were the start of human technology. This was the birth of NASA. NASA was created on October 1, 1958. NASA was created because scientist ,astronomers, wanted to find what is outside of Earth’s atmosphere. According to NASA, “This was one year after the Soviet Union launched Sputnik 1 and a "technology gap" crisis had become part of the Cold War.”

NASA was first inception in 1958. NASA stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration.NASA’s astronauts have done everything from circling the world, walking on the moon, piloting the first winged spacecraft, to constructing the International Space Station. NO man has gone father than Earth’s moon. This is why NASA was also involved of making the new technology (robotics) to rome around many other planets. These robotics conduct research in aeronautics. But, there is also some doubts of NASA conducting research because of the economy.

In NASA the price to launch a shuttle in space is $450,000,000. Also, to create a space shuttle is $1,700,000,000! We have launched many space shuttle outside of Earth’s atmosphere. The total of everything for just one space shuttle is $2.15billion dollars. Just imagine how much it cost for all space shuttles to be built and launched into space. In contrast, there has been some good news about having NASA.

NASA’s launches and museums are good things to have in Florida. The space launches have been a big part of Florida’s history. Since the first lift off in 1981, many of the Florida residents that live close or far come to go see space shuttles leave Earth. NASA has found many things in Earth that helped us develop new technology. Also, to find interesting things like if there is life on another planet. These are good things about having NASA as part of Florida.

In conclusion, NASA has been in Florida since October 1, 1958. NASA has bad parts and good parts overall. We cant stop what is happening in NASA but there are thing we need to find outside of Earth. NASA helped created technology that we use today. NASA is an important part to Florida overall.

NASA has a big effect on the culture and economy of the state of Florida because a lot of people spend money to come and see the Space Center. This makes tourism in the state go up helping out the state because the more people the more amount of money being spent. Which there for helps are economy. This affects the culture by causing people to visit the space center and watch the launching of spaceships because it has become part of the life of the locals. Many people make plans and weekends out of going to see the rocket launch and have fun the whole 60 seconds you see it. But people would love to still see that.
The annual revenue that the space center brings to the state of Florida is 1.68 billion. That is great way to help the economy and bost the revenue. Jobs are created when men, women and children go and see the rocket launch. Also there are jobs made to manage and set up the launch. This helps cause the economy is not so good right now. Any way that helps the economy is a great thing. The negative side of this is that they’re taking the space program awa, there for more than 1800 people lost their jobs due to them canceling the program. Florida economy is also hurt because it’s now gone.

NASA has changed the culture of the state of Florida because many people go to see the space shuttle lunch! Any people who are locals like to visit the space center and take there kids, This is very close to many people’s house but the houses cost went down cause the space center is now leaving from Florida. Many schools go on field trips to learn about this space program due to the amount of educated possible for this. It was used as a education tool. I visited once and loved it. I wish they could keep it open for education.

Without the Kennedy Space Center and NASA our economy would probably lack in what it does not this space center brings in a huge revenue into the state of Florida. For many people this center has become a fun thing or jobs for many people. Now its gone that is over for many people. Many jobs were lost and many think it was a mistake for this to close. Which I think it was and it should stay open to help out economy. With it closed who know what will happen.
With out all this revenue Florida’s economy will be hurt. This was a mistake to be closed in my opion. It helped out with the economy before. What do you think will happen?

  33. NASA has been in Florida for the past 40 years many have considered it a necessity to Florida’s economy. It has helped things like jobs and tourism. It helped the infrastructure and development industry. But at the same time it has hurt some of these things too. NASA has done wonders for Florida and helped many people find jobs, and help them find a better life. NASA helps the growing world. NASA for future generations as it has now will be a part of Florida culture for many years to come.

The money NASA spends stimulates the central Florida area. These stimulations come in the form of wages to local people and businesses with the purchasing of goods and services from local businesses. In 2007 NASA centers injected 1.78 billion dollars into Florida’s economy. Then another 1.66 billion dollars into the Brevard county economy to help support NASA’s landing and take off operations. After inflation only 0.6% of a decrease in Florida’s economy and only a 2.3% decrease in Brevard county after being compared to NASA’s FY 2006 results in the survey. Brevard county is the primary launch site for NASA’s space missions. To support these launches KSC had 1034 separate contracts in FY 2007 that were worth 621 million dollars.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

The Economy is a very complex thing, if one country is doing bad then another country could be doing worse. What happens to one place happens to another and affects their financial state. In Florida, the economy is just as bad as it would be in any of the other 50 states but it is slightly different considering that NASA is stationed in Florida.NASA is the largest space exploration companies in the U.S. With that being so , it can either be very helpful or it could be a huge disadvantage. The reasons for that being is because NASA offers tons of jobs, gives their workers paychecks, but the downfall would be that they spend way too much money on things that could have been used elsewhere.
Have you tried looking for a job lately? Or maybe heard a friend or family member trying to find one? It’s not very easy now a days to locate one, and this economy isn’t helping the matter either. Since NASA is stationed in Florida, Florida’s economy is looked at differently maybe than the other states. The good thing though about NASA being stationed in Florida is that NASA provides over 34,000 jobs which then gives the local house come about 1.8 billion dollars all together. This is a really good thing since there is hardly any jobs around. NASA is helping provide opportunities for those people who have gone to college to study space and do this kind of job that they were wishing to do. Since NASA allows so many workers in their work site, it helps provides a stable environment for that worker’s lifestyle
Since NASA provides over 34,000 jobs that means that they will have to provide a lot of income for the employees. The annual pay for the whole company is 1.8 billion dollars as mentioned in the paragraph above. The output income from NASA is 1.69 billion dollars. Their total amount of wage payments for NASA would be 992 million dollars. As much money is being put into each item that is being sent into space each worker is only being payed around $2.18 an hour. In my opinion I believe that the salary is slightly low considering how much work is being put done into their work. As much work that is being done, the amount of workers and pay doesn't necessarily give anybody the right to underpay.
The downfall reason for NASA affecting the economy was that the money could have been used else where and using the research in the above paragraphs I believe that that statement is true. NASA spends so much money on building different spacecrafts that half the time the machines don’t even work. They could take that money and put it all elsewhere. By putting it elsewhere I mean they could start a children’s foundation where they can help certain kids who have disabilities or illness but love learning about space. They could also try and make a new building where kids or teenagers who find astronomy fascinating, learn more by setting up different displays. There are tons of different ways that NASA can help contribute back to the community since it has been said that they are not going to be sending any more men to the moon.
With all of this research that I have done so far I have learned a lot more information about how NASA affects Florida’s economy. My opinion on whether NASA helps or doesn’t help our economy is still jumbled. The reason for that being is because NASA provides so many jobs for people who can’t find one that it gives out opportunities to be able to supply food for their families if they have one. The bad part about NASA being able to spend so much money on their equipment is that they don’t really use all of the supplies that they get because the parts don’t always use. All of my research was done on one of NASA’s sites that explained the financial system that they went by. It also gave information from the previous years and how all of that affected the company.

NASA has affected the culture and economy of Florida in many was. They Kennedy Space center is located in Florida. They also launch shuttles into space from there. NASA has helped Floridas economy by bringing tourist, also by providing information to help Floridians, and has also helped bring more funding to Florida. It has been very beneficial to our state.

Since the Kennedy Space Center is located in Florida it brings in more tourism. Having interactive things such as simulation rides and exhibits many tourist go there. That helps bring money into Floridas economy. Another reason why it helps our tourism is because of the launches they do. Since they have scheduled launches of shuttles people want to see that.

With the help of NASA and their research in space they have been able to help the people of Florida. Heart pumps have been improved because of NASA and the research they complete. Some other things that NASA has helped with are, cochlear implant which helps people who are born or become deaf or hard of hearing be able to hear better. These have affected many other states besides Florida as well.

Since Florida is home to the Kennedy Space Center, we are given more funding by the Government. That money goes toward are state as well the space center. With that we are able to redo highways and other things. NASA uses that money to continue research to better our society and space explorations. They are also able to complete more shuttle launches, which helps with the tourism.

NASA has benifitted Florida for many reasons. Tourism has been affected, also developing things to better the community and also provides Florida with more funding. Florida is a big part of NASA since we are home to the Kennedy Space Center, and the launch pad. All the information in this essay has been found off of the NASA.gov website.

NASA and space exploration plays a major role in the economy and culture of Florida. There are some positive and negative changes in the economy. Positive effects are that there’s an increase of jobs for unemployed people that live and work in our state. Space exploration can also help us be acknowledged as a state and to boost our state’s tourism to the space museums and sites in Florida where you can see where they launch the space shuttles into space. Major discoveries in space could also lead to advancements in technology in the medical and different fields. Many people believe that the government is wasting money on by extracting it and putting the money towards the space program. In my own opinion the federal government and state government should put a stockpile of more money into education since it’s more important than space exploration. Money is used for many different reasons like buying stock on wall street or by wasting people hard earned money to go help pay for lazy people stuck on food stamps. So why can’t our government stop wasting money on all the dumb things that are occurring in this country.

NASA which stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the space exploration has a huge amount of benefits to the economy but also has a lot of disadvantages. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) provide thousands of jobs and without the space program, the unemployment rate in Florida will rise rapidly. NASA not only has jobs within the actual program but it also creates jobs for people who work in the part of NASA who manufacture parts for the space shuttles we see on TV, research new ideas, and companies who supply the spare parts that NASA doesn’t have in order to build a 2 billion dollar space craft. Space exploration and the NASA centers in Florida also induces large amounts of tourists from all over the world to come see what the wonderful space exploration is all about. This will assist our federal government because they get money in return to help with the gigantic debt of our country and other parts in the structure of the government.

One of the most important effects of NASA and space exploration has on Florida’s culture and economy is the improvements in medical technology and other fields of technology too. The new technological equipment that has been discovered because of the space program. NASA has an extreme influence on career fields and inventions involving space exploration. Well on the other hand, like I said before many people believe that the government is wasting money on stupid things. CBS News Correspondent Kelly Cobiella reported “the jobs lost add up to about $600 million in wages that will no longer be pumped back into the local economy -- a big hit at a bad time.” What do you think should the government stop wasting money on stupid things and put it to more important things like our country’s education or national debt?

I think that the money used in NASA and space exploration programs can be put towards sections that are desperate for money and improvement. Education is one of the most important aspects in Florida and it needs some must needed improvement like getting new technology and textbooks for the classrooms, increase wages of our teachers, and get some online resources as well. Education is important and necessary for Florida’s economy to improve because a lot of teachers are getting laid off to save for budget cuts in schools. CBS News says “It’s estimated that 9,000 jobs will be lost when NASA's shuttle program ends with the launch of space shuttle Atlantis."

Conclusion to my paragraphs since it was to large

In conclusion, we now know that Florida’s economy and culture was massively affected by space exploration and NASA. Even though NASA has sent billions and billions of dollars to create the Space Shuttles and everything else they’ve created while the space program was in action is made a dramatic impact of our history like the race to the moon with Russia in the late 1950’s to the early 1960’s. When NASA first started in July 29, 1953, it started something tremendous in our world. Without NASA, many people wouldn’t have jobs and that increases Florida’s unemployment rate. Also, tourism would be reduced and not serve as a benefit for the government. Do you think it’s right that the government is wasting money on stupid things?

  38. The Effects of Space Exploration on the Culture and Economy of Florida

Florida has been a major profit builder and user for many economical factors. Some examples to these economic factors would be tourism, farming, and, of course, space exploration. Nasa was created in 1958. Originally, Nasa was based in Houston, Texas. Now, it is based largely in Cape Canaveral, in Florida. Nasa has been based on the exploration of space to seek knowledge, but at what price?

According to the Nasa website, Nasa’s budget in the year of 2011 almost reached 18.5 billion dollars. The majority was surprisingly spent on Earth Science with Planetary Science falling after. Nasa is a governmental organization, meaning that the budget is based off mainly taxes. In 1969, the first man landed on the moon. Nasa spent 25 billion dollars on achieving this goal. 25 billion dollars roughly equals about 135 billion dollars today. According to Huffington Post, Nasa canceled robotic missions to Mars for 2016 and 2018 due to budgetary conditions. Despite this, Nasa continues to set it’s eyes on finding evidence of life on Mars.

As of February 28th, 2012, the US national debt is 15.4 trillion dollars. Being a government organization, Nasa acquires the money for the numerous experiments and shuttle launches through taxes. Since it’s inception, Nasa has spent 500 billion dollars. This means without Nasa, the US national debt would be about 3.2% lower. Some may argue that the pursuit of knowledge isn’t worth the debt of millions of US citizens. According to Nasa, one space shuttle launch including the building and releasing of it costs an average of 450 million dollars, enough to support 20,000 low income families for a year.

Despite the huge amount of money spent on space exploration, Nasa has made inventions and discoveries that could not of been discovered without space exploration. One of these inventions is the artificial heart pump. The heart pump supplements the heart’s pumping capacity in the left ventricle. This invention has saved and supported thousands of lives to this day and are very commonly used worldwide. Another invention would be the Global Positioning System (GPS) which is used to display real time location and is used for directions and the steaming of information as used in XM radio.

In conclusion, Nasa has been known for it’s expensive experiments and launches, but also known for the inventions and discoveries made by them. To some, Nasa is viewed as an accomplice to the rising national debt. These people may see the inventions and discoveries made by Nasa as unimportant and not worth the price of space exploration. To others, Nasa is viewed as an organization that has and will continue to create new equipment and discover new things about the Universe in its entirety. These people may believe that the discoveries and inventions made by Nasa are important, beneficial, and worth the price of space exploration. Nasa has provided more knowledge to the Earth than any other company or individual, but is it worth the price?

NASA which stands for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration started in 1958 as another part of the United States government. NASA is in charge of U.S. technology and science that has to do with space or airplanes. NASA has a total number of 18 locations located around the United States. The main headquarters are in Washington DC. There are also bases in Texas, Maryland, Alabama, California, and Florida. I get effected by the things that NASA chooses to do because I live in Florida. It can be a good thing for Florida and it can also be a bad thing.

The things NASA does are for our safety and also our knowledge. Our knowledge and safety come some consequences. When people work, half our money goes to paying bills, caring for your kids, and helping our community look better. So some of our money goes to NASA to pay for their work and repairs. The money NASA spends in Florida to support its space missions and other research activities represents an enormous part of the economies of the Central Florida region and the State of Florida. These deposits come in the form of wages to residents and the purchase of goods and services from local organizations and businesses. In FY 2006 Kennedy Space Center and other NASA Centers deposited $1.68 billion into the Florida economy and $1.60 billion into the Brevard County economy to support the space program launch and landing operations at Kennedy Space Center.

Over many years, many missions have succeeded in NASA. Six of the missions, Apollo 12,15, 11, 14, 16 and 17 landed on the moon, studied soil mechanics, meteoroids, seismic, heat flow, lunar ranging, magnetic fields and solar wind. Apollo 9 and 7 are tested spacecraft in Earth orbit and Apollo 10 orbited the moon as the rehearsal for the first landing on the moon. On Apollo 13 an oxygen tank explosion forced it to stop its landing, but the problem solving of the crew and mission control turned the mission into a successful failure. There ended up being a movies made about the tragic but happy story about Apollo 13 in the year 1995. It was directed by Ron Howard and it stared Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Gary Sinise, Ed Harris, and Bill Paxton.

NASA does a lot of its work in Florida. It is not only one of its main attractions to people around the United States, but it is very popular for people who live in Florida to visit also. I know because my family and I have even visited there. We also talk about going back just to see how it has changed since we went there. NASA has helped us to get more knowledge of our solar system, and science in general. They are so helpful everywhere not just in Florida because they keep people safe from unidentified objects that are in the space and sky in that could possible hurt us.

In conclusion, to find information about our solar system and the sky you can use a lot of different resources. The main ways to learn new information is NASA. NASA stands for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. NASA is located in many different locations around our country. The location that is closest to me is the one in Cape Canaveral, Florida. NASA helps in many ways, for example, finding information about our world and the universe around it. Yet, there are some negative effects like the high costs for equipment use.

  40. NASA has impacted the Florida in many ways. The three main ways it has affected Florida is it has brought tourist to Florida and that is helping the economy of gas stations, hotels, restaurants, and almost any other business. Another reason is that is has helped with research of the stars and planets. One more would be working towards better technology. All these reason have been to helping our world and Florida. NASA maybe pulling out millions to do their stuff but it is all worth it.
One major way the space exploration has affected Florida is tourism. People come from all over the see the space rocket launch. They are not just going to go to it then leave. They have to eat and have to sleep, and most likely are going to stop at other places along the way. It has raised the profit for many companies. People are spending more money here with the space program then the space program is spending into the shuttles.
Another major way the space exploration has affected us is the research. We would not know the things we know now if it wasn’t for space exploration. For example, we would have never discovered what the moon was like. We could still be thinking that the moon is like another earth. Kids are getting a better education since the exploration beyond the earth. It helps us better understand our world that we live in.
The last major way space exploration has affected is them working towards new technology. NASA is working towards new suit and shuttle that will allow them to withstand high temperatures. Also, they could travel further with more oxygen. They can make all this they could discover planets in the outer revolution. NASA is growing and is going to invent something new. Everything is growing and its only a matter of time before NASA invents something else.
NASA is just brought good to Florida. The only thing that NASA has brought to Florida that is bad is that it gets crowded around that time. Everything else is good. There are going to find another planet that is sustainable for life. They are going to be able to past the moon with the new technology. NASA is a big thing to Florida.

  41. The effects of NASA and the Space Exploration on the economy and the culture of Florida, is the multi decade programs to explore the planets, build and operate large telescopes and space stations, taking humans to the moon and back, components to Space Flight. All these’s facts is a component to why effects of NASA and the Space Exploration have on the economy and culture of Florida. That’s why, there has been a big feud why NASA cannot send astronomers into space and back. Also if they were to send astronomers into space without a preparation of the shuttle, how are they going to get back safe. It’ll take about a 7 week process before going in to space. The reason for that, is because, astronomers have to know the stimulators and other usages of the shuttle before going up into space.

One reason why the effect of NASA and the Space Exploration on the economy and culture of Florida, is because of multi decade programs to explore the planets. Which means before you can go up to space it’ll take about a 7 week process. The reason why NASA paying for theses’ programs is because so that when the astronomers go up into space they aren’t going to make a mistake or if it involve them getting out of the space shuttle and changing the usage they know what to do. So when they go up there, they would be going up there with their brains and knowledge. Also, NASA spends a lot of money on theses’ programs because they want the culture of Florida to understand the basics and get it down back. Multi decade programs help the people of Florida get a good knowledge of an astronomer and the life.

Second reason why the effect of NASA and the Space Exploration on the economy and culture of Florida, is because of the building and operating large telescopes and space station. When I say this, I mean as part of the astronomers job, they have to be willing to actually go out in space and operate the technology they ported out there. Astronomers have know how to do it safe and make sure that they do not do anything wrong. When building and operating large telescopes and space stations astronomers have to know how to operate. They have to know how to take in leadership. Leadership is when you have the responsibility to lead and tell the person to do this and do that.

Third reason why the effect of NASA and the Space Exploration on the economy and culture of Florida, is when they take humans to the moon and back. Sometimes when do this tasks, you have to know how to move the shuttle some degrees facing the Earth and half of the moon. Why is this, because if you go out any farther of your destination zone you are bond to freeze to death. This is because when you go out of Earth bond, the temperature drop and become colder than you might expect. Earth and the Sun have to different temperature. Over by the Sun, its hotter and has I say you have to get a certain spot because the Sun will get really hot and burn the shuttle. By the Earth, its colder and if you don’t get a right spot you and the space shuttle are going to freeze.

In conclusion to why the effect of NASA and the Space Exploration on the Economy and the culture of Florida, is because of the components to Space Flights. The components to Space Flights is that you have to know how to get up into space and how to get back. That’s why I told you it’ll take a 7 week process. They are showing you how to come back when there’s an emergency or when your partner dies. You have to show theses skills when you are an astronomer. Astronomers know what they’re doing and showing the components of being a real astronomer.

  42. NASA was a great American quality. We had been the first to land on the moon, and one of the first in space. NASA has several centers, one of them being the Kennedy Space Center, here in Florida. Not only does NASA have a huge impact on history, but also on economics, especially in Florida. Since the Kennedy Space Center is located here in Florida, Florida’s government may rely on the tourism money we get from that. Now here are reasons why NASA’s loss may hurt Florida’s economy.

The history of this program is incredible. We have come so far just to see this come to an end. NASA has done big things for our economy, but one huge one is jobs. In 2010 NASA employed 33,049 people in Florida alone. With NASA employing that much it boosts Florida's employment rate, remember this is only one center. Kennedy also does good things for their employees. In 2010 they held two large-scale job fairs, for their employees retirement.

Nowadays something every state is struggling with is money. Each state is trying their best to get it, including Florida. Too bad that NASA actually was taking money, which was a huge negative thing. Kennedy alone in 2010 spent $1 billion on the program. NASA didn’t have much negative affects, but this one was a really big toll on Florida’s current economy. In some people’s eyes, the affect on Florida's economy is worth it.

Space has been fascinating to people since the cavemen times. People get really excited over learning more about it, and our country is huge on it. This makes it easy for Kennedy Space Center to make money on tourism. In 2010 1.5 million out-of-state people visited Kennedy, which helped Florida out a lot. All this tourism made Kennedy $47 million, you can bet that was positive for this states economy. Good thing tourism is bringing back some of the money taken away by Kennedy.

NASA has brought space exploration a long way throughout it’s time. It has brought our economy up and down on a roller coaster. Some people see it as a great way to waste money, as others find it one of the best programs ever made by the U.S. For Florida’s economy, NASA has created problems and benefits for it. Bringing Florida jobs, debt, and tourists, NASA has done a lot. For now, NASA has been shut down for our economy, but the people are still thinking;does it really help us?

NASA and space exploration has a large effect on economy in the US. More importantly, in Florida. It costs a lot to build these huge telescopes for space, and send people to the moon. Florida's economy could be lowered from the switch from Space Shuttle to the constellation System. However, there could be a possible good side to the switch from Space Shuttle to constellation system. If it removes all the monetary usage from having to send shuttles into space it could have a good effect.

Grant it, we do get a ton of valuable information about space and the universe from sending space telescopes up, and sending shuttles to the moon ect. However, that is a very costly thing to do. First, they have to obtain all the materials to build the telescopes, and then they have to take time to build them up. Then there’s the launch and operation, and who knows how long they would need to keep it in space. In fact, according to NASA ask magazine, they are not always sure the projects will be fundable.

The switch from Space Shuttle to the constellation system can be a bad thing for the economy. For one, it would loose Florida tourism. People come from all over to see shuttles take off, meaning they effect the economy coming into Florida and staying here. According to an article on Popsci, NASA contributes about $4 billion a year to Floridas economy. Therefore, we could loose a lot of that from not sending shuttles into space. Plus the money we get from tourism would lessen.

Despite all the negative effects NASA could have on Floridas economy, there is some good that could come from it. For instance, all the money that is used to send shuttles into space. That could be used for other things such as improving the telescopes and/or the constellation system. But, the constellation system could be more diffucult to become accustomed to. Especially after all these years of using shuttles.

There are a lot of both positive and negative effects that the NASA program could have on Floridas economy. And they range from tourism, to building new technologies to help us learn about space. No matter which one it is (positive or negative) it's really something we'll have to look into. Especially before any major changes in the program. NASA is a very interesting program, but it is also fairly costly.

Some people wonder if NASA and space exploration somehow has an effect on the Culture and Economy of Florida. NASA and Space exploration do affect Florida; first it affects the economy because it draws in a whole bunch of tourist on shuttle launch week and the money brought in. Another thing NASA affects is the economy of not just Florida but the whole United States to make the space shuttles. Last but not least NASA affects Florida’s culture by improving the technology around Florida since this is the main center of Space Exploration.

The first thing that NASA affects in Florida is the economy bringing in many tourists on shuttle weekend/ week. According to NASA over 100 people show up to a space shuttle launch every time and there are over 29 Space shuttles and telescopes launched a year. That’s over 2900 people brought two Cape Town / Kennedy Space center every year, and these statistics don’t include the people who just go to see the working facilities. The cost to watch a space shuttle launch can be up to $49 per person.

Continuing on the subject the other thing that affects Florida’s economy and the United States economy is the building and manufacture of these space craft. According to NASA one space shuttle cost up to $1.7 billion dollars and cost about $450 million to launch into space. To this date our national debt is $15,408,027,700,991 and counting imagine taking the money of a space shuttle manufacture and space launch off of this debt. Florida’s debt is $138,699,358,407 and counting as well.

Last but not least NASA affects Florida’s culture by improving the technology around Cape Town / Kennedy Space center. Some things it improved are location services and GPS locaters. Other things affected by NASA programs are radios, heart monitors, hospital equipment, and anything with radio waves. Many things that where improved in quality that where sent out into space are Telescopes and Space Probes.

So does NASA and Space Exploration affect Florida? Yes it affects its economy and culture. The first thing it affects is Florida’s economy bringing major cash on our tourism year around for every space shuttle launch. Secondly it puts Florida and the United States in debt every time they launch one of their Machines. Last but not least it affects Florida’s culture by how it improved the technology in Florida and around the world. So NASA and Space exploration both hurts and helps Florida and its economy/culture.

    8th period;

Nasa has been working for about 50 years now. In 1958, President Eisenhower had established the national aeronautics and space administration. Then in the 1960's, President Kennedy had focused and sent astoughnaughts to space. Nasa had developed the technology that was needed for this. On july 20th 1969, 12 men were sent up to space to explore. Today men are still being sent up to help us learn.

Nasa is a very big deal for people living in the US. It is very helpful since it is gathering information for us that is much needed. It answers many questions, and already explained many things we did not know before. It although, is very dangerous for the astronauts that go up into space. It is also very expensive because the equipment that is needed.

In 1980, US spent almost 3 trillion dollars worth in output in producing and consuming. This includes all farms and businesses. Nasa budject totaled to less then 1 percent of the Gross National Product, in 1960. In 2005, the "space economy" was estmiated at $180 billion dollars. It is said that more then 60 percent of that came from goods in the commercials and services.

Nasa has really helped us and gave us a better idea of how we think about space. It has had a big impact on our culture. It has impacted our imagination about space, technology, knowledge, and social development. At this moment Nasa is still creating history. The technology advances have helped us make medicine. It is also giving more jobs to people.

Nasa is a very needed and helpful thing for the United States. It is costful but it also gives us many advantages and it shapes our culture. 50 years ago, Nasa had started and it is still running today. It gave many big impacts to us and around the world. Many of the stuff we learn today in our science class come from what the austronaughts have found out from going up into space. It has also corrected us in the predictions that were made and not right.

  46. NASA is a space program that has been around for a little more than 50 years. NASA has been conducting space exploration to try to find out new discoveries about our world and the world outside. In 1969, during one of the Apollo missions, Louis Armstrong and his team were the first people to land on the moon. With this space program it has benefited Florida in many ways. NASA has helped Florida shape its culture and economy with tourism, helping people have jobs and giving advances in technology.

One way that Florida’s economy and culture has been affected is with tourism. NASA’s admission prices are $39 for adults and $30 for children. It includes exhibits and films with a bus tour. People could even pay an extra $20 for a "NASA Up Close tours that are narrated by an expert guide.” There is even a hotel in Cape Canaveral that NASA has. In 2011 rumors from newspaper companies claimed that NASA would let tourists visit the moon to the Apollo landing sites. With all of this, tourism has been helping NASA and Florida's economy.

Another way that the NASA space program effects Florida's economy and culture is providing people with jobs. In 1975, "20,000 people worked for the NASA space program." It was claimed that NASA was able to give over 14,000 job opportunities to people who were eager to become a fellow employer. There are a range of workfields to be in NASA from astronauts to the people that construct the spacecrafts. This helped Florida's employment rate go up by "forty percent since 1940."

Lastly, NASA has effected Florida's economy and culture is the advances in human technology. NASA has been improving America's space technology ever since the 1950's. Now we are able to adapt to satellites and space crafts. Probes that are able to travel farther than our solar system are known as "robotic". Other robots are researching on Mars to see if it is the same composition as Earth. With NASA's technology we are able to learn a plethora of information about galaxies, planets, comets, constellations, solar systems, etc.

In 2011, after 30 years of the space shuttle program, NASA has shut it down. The employment rate has gone down 15 percent once the space shuttle program shut down. Even though the space shuttle program has shut down, NASA has benefited Florida's economy. NASA has helped Florida shape its culture and economy with tourism, helping people have jobs and giving advances in technology. It has increased profit by curious tourists ready to learn about space and watch the launching of space shuttles. It helped Florida's employment rate go up by "forty percent since 1940." And With NASA's technology we are able to learn a plethora of information about galaxies, planets, comets, constellations, solar systems, etc. NASA's mission statement has been to "pioneer the future in space exploration, scientific discovery and aeronautics research." in which they were able to fufill.

  47. NASA began in 1958 since then it has spent over billions of dollars.NASA stands for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. NASA started in Florida, at the Kennedy Space Center about forty years ago, since then it has been a key source for tourists and jobs here in Florida. NASA has effected our culture and our economy here in Florida in many ways.

The Kennedy Space Center was opened in 1962. Since then it has brought economic wealth by bringing in tourists, and has provided Floridians with culture by teaching us about space. Having the tourists come to Florida it brings in a lot of money. They can go to the space center to see the shuttles launch; when they did. They can also enjoy simulation rides and learn about the history of man in space, or just learn about space! Tourists are a big part in Florida's economy.

To send a shuttle into space it costs about $450 million dollars. How does NASA get this money? NASA gets the money from the government. That means Florida has more money from the government flowing through its economy. NASA has many scientists working for them who were paid some of this money. When NASA decided to stop space exploration, it cut 7,000 jobs out of Kennedy Space Center. This made the unemployment rate go up. When NASA decided to stop sending shuttles, it hurt the economy.

Many children go to the Kennedy Space Center. Alot of schools take their classes to the space center. When i was little i remember the first time i heard and felt a shuttle land. I was scared and suprised, my mom had to explain to me what the loud boom was. Its so interesting that even almost 90 miles away i can hear and see the shuttle. Having the Kennedy Space center in Florida is a cool way for kids to learn about space. This improves our culture as Floridians.

In conclusion having the Kennedy space center here, in Florida has had many effects. It has brought tourists in when to come visit. It has strengthened and lessened our economy. It has also improved Floridian's culture. Having NASA in Florida is a big part of the culture and economy for these reasons.

Florida has been NASA’s home for the past 29 years. In 2011, NASA was ordered to shut down due to shortage in government funding. NASA has affected Florida’s economy both negatively and positively. But the positive ways that NASA has affected Florida's economy is by attracting tourists to Florida. It has also provided thousands of jobs for Floridans. The last positive affect that NASA has had on Florida’s economy is that the NASA program brought in a lot of very intelligent people to Florida. So even if they did get fired, they still have very experienced workers in Florida.

The first positive way that NASA has affected Florida’s economy is by attracting tourists to Florida. Tourism is always a good thing to have in any state, and NASA was one of the biggest incomes for Florida. According to Reuters.Com, in 2008 NASA generated $4.1 billion in overall economic benefits for Florida, including 2.1 billion in household income. Not only does the tourism help out the state, it also helps out small businesses in Florida. As told in an article on Reuters.Com, a small business owner named Miguel Sanchez, he says, “No happy hour on launch days. It’s the busiest day of the year -- crowded, crowded!” So with the loss of NASA, Miguel and other small business owners will lose their busiest day of the year.

The second positive way that NASA has affect Florida’s economy is by providing thousands of jobs! According to NASA Watch.Com, NASA has provided around 19,000 jobs! It also states that if NASA were to shut down (which it has) out of all of those 19,000 people, 500 people would be able to keep their jobs! That means more than 90% of NASA’s workers will have lost their job. With Florida’s economy the way that it is right now, we can not afford to lose any more jobs. Ex-specially around 18,500 jobs!

The third and finial positive affect that NASA has had on Florida’s economy is that they have brought in a lot of intelligent people! Being a part of NASA isn’t an easy thing. People go through rigorous years of school and training to be able to work for NASA. So now that Florida has a lot of intelligent people in it, if NASA were to ever shut down (which happened) these people are now in Florida and can get jobs in which they didn’t think of doing before. With the level of knowledge and years of experience that they have had, they could probably go work on computers. Then, Florida’s computers department would be one of the best in the nation!

In conclusion, NASA is a major part of Florida’s economy. NASA does not only have negative affects, like being too expensive, but it also has a lot of positive affects! Some of the few that I have listed are that it provides tourism, provides jobs and brings a lot of intelligent people to Florida. NASA does not only have these three things that are positive about them. If you dig into the research about NASA there are many things that you can find that you probably never have even heard about!

the nasa is a big part of floridas economy and culture. They have the best technology. Nasa was founded back in 195.Today we know nasa as the kennedey space center. If you dont know any of the effects it has had on florida. Im going to tell you in these next four paragraphs, there great.
the first efect NASA has had on floridas culture and economy is. They calloborated with Dr.Micheal DeBay, he invented the heart pump.NASA is engaged in very active research.since they calloborated with him.NASA has been on the top 25 scientific breakthroughs.
Another postiveeffect nasa has had on floridas economy and culture is. Back in 196 nasa project directed at the johnsons space center. What this was invented for was to help firefighters in a lightweight, breathing system. Now that we have that breathing apparatuses. The NASA technology is creditied with significant reductions in inhalation injuries to the people who protect us.
The last thing that i think effected florida the most was. When the space shuttle kennedey space center was shut down. Many people lost their jobs. Over 500 hundred people to be exact. That not only effected the workers but the tourist people as well. they had n where to go while on vacation. the space shuttle is a big part of florida attraction.so i know everybody was devastated by that.
In conclusion NASA helps us in our everyday lives. From thier technoogy,to there heart pumping,to the job lost situation. I didnt know NASA was so important until doing research on i. I apperciate the NASA center so much more

NASA has been around since 1958. NASA stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration. It was created by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. President John F. Kennedy was very interested in NASA. The Kennedy Space Center was named after him after his assassination. The Kennedy Space Center is one of ten centers located in the U.S.

The 2010 Total Economic Impact of All NASA Activities in Florida by Geographic Area gives the money that was spent on the state of Florida. In 2010, the total economic impact of NASA in Florida was: $4.1 billion in output; $2.2 billion in household income; 33,000 jobs; $314 million in federal taxes; and $134 million in state and local taxes. The majority impact was in Central Florida. The Kennedy Space Center collects this information every year to analyze it. The NASA budget is $18.7 billion. Also other NASA centers spent $1.8 billion in the state of Florida just in the year of 2010.

The societal impact that NASA has made on Florida economy is huge. Florida’s economy has been good and bad. Some people say it boosted the economy because it has given over 7,000-8,000 jobs to people. Other people say that it brought it down because local business’s and restaurants have thrived with the space center there. Now that the space program will be shutting down many people will be losing their jobs. It is said that up to 14,000 people will be affected by this.

NASA is shutting down their shuttling system because it seems nobody has any interest in space anymore. NASA has been shuttling for 30 years and will now be gone. The cost for the space program is very expensive as well. President Barack Obama suggested that NASA should focus more on sending stuff to Mars and asteroids. Plus the budgetary constraints too. If we want to go to space then we might have to hitch a ride with the Russians. The final launch was on Friday, July 8, 2011.

In conclusion many people will be losing jobs because they will be unemployed. NASA is being shut down because it is to much money and it isn’t bringing in good research. Some people think it is for the best. NASA has been around for at least 50 years. We have learned great stuff from it and have achieved stuff we never could have hoped for. Hopefully in the future we will be able to open up that program and learn more about space and what lies out there.

  51. To begin with the (NASA)stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration. It is responsible for the space program. The NASA program has helped with a lot of things such as jobs for people in need, tourism, and technology in all kinds of ways. NASA has also done some really interesting things for people, that caused them to be more interested in the program. In the 1960’s the program sent twelve people to the moon. people from all around the world come to see the NASA shuttle launches in Canaveral fl.

In 1981 NASA launched the first space shuttle into space.Although the shuttle was fantastic and people were thrilled at the work and effort they had put into the shuttle, it cost a little over a billion dollars, just to build the shuttle. NASA having to build the shuttles for space was an economic crisis for our economy. As you can tell, NASA had good effects but bad effect followed behind a lot of it. A lot of our money went into this program, but to a lot of Americans it was worth every penny. It showed a lot of people that hard work pays off, and also changed peoples live's.

Our tax money went toward the NASA program. Not to say that giving our taxes to this kind of cause is bad because it’s not. But there are so many other things in this world that the money that was funded could of went to, like to benefit our economy. But a lot of people around the world travel to see the launches. So the expenses for the plane tickets and the fast food restaurants benefited with a lot of money that people spent to travel to see the NASA spaceships launch.
The technology that was created for space benefited all people in many ways. In fact there are over 1,500 stories of things that were created for space that has been used by the public. One very popular thing that people in today’s society uses is temper foam, for their beds and mattresses. Temper Foam was a thing that NASA supported and benefited from. The program first designed it to develop a padding concept to improve crash protection for airplane passengers, and it became popular through out the whole world.

NASA has effected space exploration and many other things in a lot of ways. It has helped people through out the whole world and it has made huge impacts on our society. But with out the NASA program a lot of people wouldn't of had jobs and wouldn't of been able to experience the great things NASA as brought out in our world today. It has been devastating to people to hear that NASA was shutting down.

  52. NASA is a great contributor to the local economy, culture of Florida and technological advancements. NASA has benefited so much such as inventing new technology and bringing money to Florida. When the shuttle program shut down so did 7,000 jobs along with tourism and U.S control in space. Although new transportations to space will be available in 2015 from private corporations, that wouldn’t boost much of the economy due to the decline in America’s infrastructure and economy. In 2008, NASA generated 4.1 billion dollars in revenue but now that is expected drop dramatically. The only thing keeping NASA alive is government funding and Kennedy space visiting center.
NASA helped develop the zero-g plane which is a commercial flight where guests will experience zero gravity in the form of free fall. They also discovered medical advancements. In recent years, layoffs and budget cuts hampered NASA. And also the new astrorobonaut replaced the need of humans in the ISS. And also the only way for humans to get to space is on Russian spacecraft.
According to Universe Today 40,000 was created from NASA related activities. After the Shuttle program shutdown the unemployment rate rose to 11.9%. Also 14,000 jobs were indirectly affected due to this. However this isn’t first time this has happened, in 1972 Brevard county unemployment rate rose to 15% and 10,000 workers left the area when the Apollo missions ceased. However this may change if the constellation project arrives ahead of schedule.

NASA is a space exploration program that was shut down in Florida in 2011. It was the largest space program in the United States. NASA and its space explorations have had major impacts on our economy. A few examples would be that NASA’s program gave thousands of people jobs, it helped develop the now highly impacting heart pump, and finally, it helped the children of today learn about the amazing things beyond our home planet. Some would say that NASA was a waste of money and time while others, like myself, believed that it was an amazing program that should have never ended. Here is why NASA was such an excellent program for Florida's economy.

NASA employed 17, 059 people in the year 2006. With all of those people having jobs, our economy went up. Families had better income, people could pay their bills. When people can pay their bills they won't owe our government extra money and they would keep the government stable. People could afford to get healthier foods. The overall health of Florida would significantly raise the quality of life and people would be happier and more stable. Parents could afford to get their child into higher education schools. When kids have a high education, then they will become more intelligent and more in tune with the world around them. Having this certainty will help our future generation make better choices for Florida.

NASA and a Doctor by the name of Michael DeBakey helped form the heart pump. A heart pump is a device that helps push blood through the arteries and veins. This was designed off of the rocket fuel moving through the tubes in a rocket ship. NASA and and Dr. DeBakey have saved peoples lives from having a blockage in their veins/arteries to helping reconstruct a failed vessel. NASA's inventions have been such an impact to our society and economy that it has kept the every day person alive.

Today's children are people who will need to know about the future. What's may be in the future for our children? If we don't have space explorations and such then the children will be stuck to what we know today and only today. Even though there's a lot we know, there are still light years of things we haven't seen or explored. The children who know the future are a key to opening up newer technologies and newer and better knowledge about how we affect the world. Having one kid grow up to be a world known scientist that lives in Florida would be something that helps the economy and the world.

Overall, NASA had a major impact on our society and our lives. It helped develop the heart pump, it helped children have a higher education, and it gave thousands of people jobs that helped their career. Without NASA, imagine how bad our economy would have been. Imagine how oblivious we would be to the space around us. Many technologies that we have today would not be here, nor would many, MANY, people who were saved by these technologies. NASA is an economy saver, and it is a life save.

  54. Our assignment for today was to research how NASA affects the economy and culture of florida. Or how space exploration plays a part in the economy and culture of Florida. Soace explorations plays a big part in our economy; we see space exploration everyday. Space explorations from NASA have brought us satelites, aids to life-saving technology, and navigation systems which all are apart of our economy.
Satelites power many things in our world. They power ATM's and without those noone could get money to pay for things. They power credit and debit machines and without those they wouldn't be able to pay for anything. They power meteorology devices that detect hurricanes. Also, satelites give us reports on the climate for certain areas and the weather for the day.
NASA has aided us in research for life-saving technology such as breast cancer screenings. The screenings can detect weather there is a mass, and if its bile or cancerous. NASA has also engaged in research of the artificial heart pump. That machine restores the rhythm of someones heart.
Satelite plays a part in navigation as well. theres alot of different kinds of navigation systems. There are ones for cars, boats, planes, and trains. Some fishermen use certain navigation systems to tell them where the best fishing spots are.
in all, NASA has engaged in the research of many different problems and expirements such as life-saving technologies. Without they're space exploration and research there wouldnt be satelites which power almost everything including ATM's and navigational systems. saving lives, money, and navigation for research all relate to the economy.

  55. Many things can affect Florida’s economy. One of the things that can affect it is NASA. Florida spends an enormous amount of money for space travel. According to NASA.gov, the most Florida has spent in Florida was in 2006. The money that was spent was $1.80 billion dollars. Overall, though, total commodity purchases around near to $ 1,496 million dollars.

Also another thing that NASA effects Florida’s economy is the visitor center operation. Florida can get paid from this. The visitor's who go to check out NASA, pay for lodging, food, car rental, and other extra items, their money goes to Florida economy. As of 2007 the money that came from all this rounded out to $42 million dollars. NASA can also attract tourist to Florida. Which can also lead to house payment for rent. This means more money and people can come down to Florida. In 2007 the total money the received from tourist rounds to $704.1 million dollars.

Another thing from NASA that can affect Florida is the employment rate. More employees are hired by NASA which means less families homeless. In 2006 the average number, according to NASA.gov, were around 13,630 who work on site. The 98% of that number were Floridians that were hired. The total of that number would around to 13,553. The most earnings for the job would be $979,000 dollars if you include the whole total of Florida.

The last thing that NASA affects Florida’s economy is that it can increase the amount of purchases. There are many commodity that can be purchased, for example, the maintenance of the space shuttle. In 2007, according to NASA.gov, the amount of money Florida spent was around $1,496 million dollars. Although most of the purchases wast spent into the research. The rest was spent into the development and schematics of the plan to build. All this information can be found on NASA.gov.

All in all this information provides that NASA can affect Florida’s economy in good and bad ways. If NASA were to be taken off, thousands or more will loose their jobs. Therefore the population can drop because of the lower growth rate.

  56. The NASA program has been a major privilege to have been in Florida. The NASA program had brought a significant amount of economic boost to Florida. The boost would help keep Florida from falling as far as it could of from the economic depression in the U.S. right now that is affecting many states.

The biggest reason that I think closing the NASA space program down was bad on Florida's economy was because we are in a recession right now. The program provides 0.5 percent of Florida's GDP income by contributing about 4 billion dollars to Florida's yearly economy. The major blow that this will cause will just be kicking Florida while it’s down. The average income for a NASA employ makes roughly 77 thousand a year which would impact Florida's economy. There are nearly 8000 NASA employees that are scheduled to be relocated.

The tourism factory that NASA brings in is huge. The local stores and businesses can count on these few days a year to help boost their income which could keep them in business during this horrible recession. The fact that they cannot count on this anymore is a horrible thought because they could start to lose their jobs and lead to more of an economic drop. The state of Florida relies heavily on tourism all year long. The fact that the NASA space program will not help that anymore will likely drop the tourism factor for more people to visit.

One of the biggest things besides economic income is the technology development that NASA provides for the U.S. the space program has invented many things that are of everyday use for regular people. The helmets that astronauts use are made by blow rubber molding which helped come up with shoes that would help with less impact on the body. A major help was the air tanks that firefighters used the original air tanks were heavy and then NASA found a way to make them lighter and more efficient.

Even though the impact or NASA being shutdown is tremendous we will work through it. The words of the great Neil Armstrong “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind will most definitely be the greatest words for space exploration.

NASA has a space station located here in Florida. Kennedy Space Program offers many things to Florida and it’s visitors. They have also made Florida some extra money, especially during launches. The space center may or may not have helped Florida’s economic growth. Florida is a home to many people who love to venture out and do many different things. One thing that NASA has done to help for sure is provide them with something fun to do and to look at.

NASA has had many projects to do, and so has the Kennedy Space Program. NASA has affected Florida in an economical and cultural way. The workers do get payed more and have more fun doing their jobs, making them work harder. NASA hit Florida hard with the first project. The project totaled at around $3.6 billion dollars, according to NASA.gov. The end result was positive though. Florida gained $1.8 billion for household income, and 34,000 jobs out of it.

NASA also helped Florida get $177 million dollars in federal taxes, according to NASA.gov. They also helped FL get $83 million in state and local taxes, which have helped a lot. Florida has benefited from the NASA program. NASA also helped to employ 33,000 workers. This also helped FL for their economic purposes. If this NASA goes down then Florida will lose a lot of money. Also many workers will lose their jobs and they will have to file for unemployment.

NASA’ effect on Florida's culture has helped many people believe in the sky. It has also made the next generation consider studying space. Many people don’t want the Kennedy Space Program to close because it is a great part of history. Also it has helped the future and no generations about the wonders of space. Many children enjoy it, and it wouldn’t be fair to others to close it down. Instead of closing it down they should make it into a museum. When the generation that was there grows up they would like to show their kids, when it closes they won’t be able to do that. NASA has affected Florida’s culture greatly.

Florida has had the Kennedy Space Station up and running for a while. The closure will be due to expenses and not a lot of people visit there anymore. The last shuttle launched in 2010. NASA will lose a lot of money and Florida will lose a lot of money. This will effect both the economy and the culture of Florida. The culture of Florida will be a lot less future astronauts, astronomers and many other space jobs that NASA provides. The next generation may not get to know what NASA was, or what it has done to help FL.

    NASA & Florida's Economy

NASA and space exploration and culture have a huge impact on Florida. These impacts may be positive or negative. The amount of money that is spent each year on NASA is tremendously high and unreasonable. Another effect on Florida would be how NASA is currently non-existent. The president felt that it was the right thing to do, but it had a huge impact on us, and also people that don't live in Florida. I also think that the biggest impact would be on the people that worked for NASA, and how they were laid off.

The amount of money spent on NASA is pretty high. With NASA going over the budget, i assume that people were very upset with them. The budget for NASA was 18.7 billion dollars. This is 900 million dollars higher than the year before. Just to name a few, NASA spent 666 billion dollars on defense,122.2 billion dollars on education and 102.5 billion dollars on health & human services. Even though the money was for a good cause, its effecting our economy greatly because of the lack of money.

The fact that NASA's space shuttle program is non-existent has bothered many people. A lot of people looked forward to watching the space shuttle lift off on the news, outside their residence, or even being there in person to see it. On the other hand, some people didn't really care because they don't believe in 'space'. It would have an impact on the parents that liked to take their children to the ISS so they could explore and think about their future.

I couldn't imagine how upset people were that were laid off. 600 to 1,000 or more people were laid off of their jobs due to the termination of NASA. It's not their fault that the program they were working on wasn't cost-effective. It wasn't also a good way to keep money going forward either. This has a huge impact on Florida because all of those people now have to find new jobs.

In conclusion, the negative impacts NASA has on Florida are pretty bad. Using excessive amounts of money for certain things definitely has an impact on us. It also has an impact on other states too. It was a great place to go for children to think about their careers. Exploring and learning about NASA is great for them. Unfortunately, it doesn't exist anymore. The most important thing about these flaws would be how all of those people lost their jobs.

  60. Since Present Obama Discontinue NASA, Florida has been suffering from the lose of one of it bigger sources of income. On April 15 2:55 EDT President Obama gave a speech about how he was going to let go NASA Space Shuttle Exploration. In this Florida took a big hit from that and when the are in a resection and when the economise is in the toilet . To me this start back in 1986 after the Challenger disaster. When over 1,000 people were layoff one month after the whole ordeal. To that was when some thing bad was going to happen to NASA.

Back in 1986 the Challenger disaster than was when the space shuttle blew up. On to the ln way to the atmosphere and it was all caught all on camera. The month after were 1100 people were layoff by the the budget cut to make a whole new space ship.the government said that they were limiting there launch over the years and now there not even launching. Then you speed up till now and there getting shut down . So i think that this was going to happen along time a go .

This was also a big to the unemployment this made the number jump high. Because NASA lost a lot of there employees at NASA to me they were on of the bigiest employers out in Florida. So when they layoff the people unemployment shot up in Florida .There were a lot of people who did not even work for NASA a lot of private that built part for the ships. Many people lost their jobs because of NASA getting shut down .

We also lost a lot of tourism in this state because of it over 1 billion dollars in profit. That is only .5 come from NASA but still most of it went to education and look wear we are at now. We also lost a lot of money around that area which it called coca beach. It a small beach area with some great waves and cool places to stay. but now NASA has stop launching shuttles that area will fell it effects.

The Lost of NASA was big to the Florida economy but we have gotten over the bigger thing in Florida. But with the help of the government and other thing we get back on our feet. but with the drop in tourism and the higher unemployment it will take use a long time. but to this was come way back from 1986 when they started to layoff a lot of people.

It takes a lot of people to run NASA and all the supplies so the workers also money to explore Florida’s economy. Another thing is when the government go and explore other planets that takes up a lot of money and put us in a n economy condition that’s why it’s bad now. Funding space programs can take up a lot of money and as our economy is going down we will no longer be able to fund it with as much money. We have to start funding for future technologies and advancements. We already fund to NASA over $1.5 billion and that can be used for smaller organizations or to help us get out of debt. This is the way that we live and what we believe in.
The workers also affect the economy and the culture because people get laid off. The citizens wonder why so many people get laid off that's because the business has to pay for more than just them. Too many people work at one job site so someone's going to loose their job not eelveryone can be supported and someone might not be doing there job right. People feel bad for these people but I kind of don't.
The space programs always want to go explore another planets. This takes up way too much money to do so and people don't get that. They just want to know if there's another planet or if there's more moons. Whatever the case may be, when we have the money we will do this stuff not while we're in debt that's already bad for our economy.
inconclusion NASA affects our economy and culture in many ways. You don't notice it until we're in dept. People get laid off and jobs are loss thats a part of life. I hope you got my point from reading this and that's all I had to say. You may have another view but this is mine. NASA is shutting down their shuttling system because it seems nobody has any interest in space anymore. NASA has been shuttling for 30 years and will now be gone. The cost for the space program is very expensive as well. President Barrack Obama suggested that NASA should focus more on sending stuff to Mars and asteroids. If we want to go to space then we might have to hitch a ride with the Russians. The final launch was on Friday, July 8, 2011.
NASA is needed and helpful thing for the United States. It is costly but it also gives us many advantages. 50 years ago, NASA had started and it is still running today. It gave many big impacts to us and around the world. Many of the stuff we learn today in our science class come from what the astronauts have found out from going up into space. It has also corrected us in the predictions that were made and not right

Then you speed up till now and there getting shut down. So I think that this was going to happen along time a go.

NASA has had many effects on Florida’s economy and culture. Florida receives a lot of tourism for the shuttle launches. But, not only do Floridans come to the shuttle launches, it is people from all over the world. According to the NASA website(http://www.nasa.gov/), NASA injected 1.68 billion to Florida and Brevard County (larger central Florida) economies to support their space programs. NASA has also helped Floridans economy by providing jobs at KSC(Kennedy Space Center). It has provided over 13,000 jobs.

The Kennedy Space Center has not only made money from the employees and contracts, but also from the tourists. There has been over 800,000 out-of-state residents visitors at the kennedy space visitor center in 2006. These tourists have gained money for Florida’s economy. Every year, they raise over one million dollars from food and souvenirs.

There is also negative impacts from NASA. The negative impacts are the costs of the space explorations and space craft. About 17 billion dollars is spent on NASA each year. It has affected Florida’s economy tremendously. Also, many people were laid of from NASA, because NASA has stopped their shuttle program. Many people were saddened that NASA stopped their shuttle program.

In conclusion, over the last 50 years of NASA’s existence, it has had good and bad effects on Florida’s economy. NASA has earned money for Florida through tourism and programs. But NASA has also used a lot of money and laid people off of their jobs; when they ended their shuttle program. Another impact was the information learned from the space exploration. Scientists are more aware of the outer world because of space exploration.

NASA is a program made by the government to make a study of the universe and everything in it. NASA is also responsible to research the planets and find more information for our own intelligence. NASA has humans to space to get our own perspective of the world and how it looks from afar. Through the technology that has to be used for NASA is very technologically advanced that only scientists that made it only know how to use it. With the use of its technology, we’ve also made some better medical breakthroughs with how some of their technologies work and some similarities with the human body. Some scientists also can learn with the functions of these technologies to better advance to even more things.
With the help of NASA, we are able to see things out of reach of our field of vision. NASA assists us to see planets up closer and see visual images, photographs, and other sorts of evidence. NASA also uses tools that find other things that are invisible to the human eye. Things like the electromagnetic radiation and further distant objects. NASA was able to assist us humans in the closer visualization of the planets such as what their weather is like and other occurrences. Perhaps sending other telescopes to get other images of the outside solar system would aid in our research of other worlds in our area.
Perhaps the colonization of us human on another planet would help with our troubles with possible over population could be brought down with the compatibility of a new world to live on. The only other possible planet that we could live on is Mars. Mars is sometimes said to have sustained life but scientists are still unsure. NASA is still trying to fund this type of trial and help us humans to be a multi planetary species. The benefits would be endless if we were to achieve this goal. Such ideas will need much funding and a large deal of time.
NASA would continue as the way it does today, it would advance in technology and would hopefully someday send regular civilians to space and explore for themselves what is out there in the unknown. Until said day can come, NASA would still need to come up with more research and funding to get the observations done. According to the NASA website, they are already coming up with aircrafts that are greener and would use less fuel and be able to use less fuel to save money. There are other aircrafts that have space shuttles attached to the top and are sent up into space from the help of the airplane. The airplane would go as planned wherever it is going and send the shuttle on its way to space.
NASA is always coming up with new ideas for technologies for the use and observation in space travel. Before we are able to join the astronauts in space, we must contribute to their research and that will also assist us with our everyday life. Space technology, like from our space shuttles, have given us more ideas for the help for us humans. For example, the way that the engines works in a shuttle and all the fluids that move through the machine is somewhat similar to how the heart pumps the blood. With this idea, we are able to create a life support system to keep people in comas that could possibly have a chance to live can be brought back. This was somewhat a breakthrough for people who can have life support for their loved ones.

In 1958, there was a new agency that had eight objects and that name was called NASA and it was here in florida. There has been many problems with NASA and with barack obama and he now has just shut down NASA from going into space. Barack Obama said that we are spending to much money just for usa to go up into space and that means no astronouts will be going up into space for a long time and the money issue is making us loss the money that we are supposed to get from the government and I really do agree with that because NASA is taking all this money and using it for there own shuttles and there equipment. NASA can use this money on there own thing and we don’t get the money that we get to use for our own self. NASA is being unfar with the money that they use.
NASA has been here for about forty five years and then Obama gets to just shut it down. Florida used to play an important role in Florida because people all over used to go and watch it just take off. The people who worked there got paid about $77,600 dollars. More than 1.5 million visators watched it go and take off. Way back in 2007 the workers still remember that was there first richest year in NASA history. The workers can also remember that there was four space veicles that went up there into space. The NASA angency uses green power so nothing will go wrong. There is lostsof activites that go on at NASA and it is basiclly just studing the solar system and we were sending people up into space. NASA spends money because it supports there business and there missions.
They spend there money by persuing people of doing it so and they will usually agree and say yes to that. There has been lots of test when they spend there money and they will buy new equipment and new technology on NASA and they will spend lots of amounts of money on the shuttles and all that. There is a contract on NASA that some of you may have not known that but NASA was in a contract and that is why it is not running no more. There is also a contract on the workers and there bussiness. They spent over 25 million dollars on equipment and merchindies. There total impact is based on the money that they spent.
NASA has spent a lot of money to be where its at and as you probly hear it is not running no more because of the money that they spent. All the shuttles that they have gotten destroyed NASA has to spend more money on the stuff that they should ever even start to be buying. If they had the right stuff and equipment that they should have that then would have not ever happened but it did. The more cash they spend the more equipment that they will start to be buying and the cash is just going down the drain and that does not need to happen.
NASA will eventually create new jobs for the people who don’t work no more for NASA. Hopefully in the future NASA will be back up and running. We really don’t know what is going up in space right now. NASA said it will be back up but we really don’t know when that shall happen. I hope NASA will be back and running because who on earth knows whats happening up in space.

The most health of Florida would significantly raise the quality of life and people would be happier and more stable. Parents could afford to get their child into higher education schools. When kids have a high education, then they will become smarter and more in tune with the world around them. Having this will help our future generation make better choices for Florida.

One of the most positive things NASA has done to help the world and benefit mankind is to help with the development industry. The development industry has helped with breakthroughs in aero technology which could be used to help the military and air lines. Which makes it very beneficial to people who have to the hauling industry? Development has helped the world according to NASA.

In conclusion NASA has affected the economy greatly because without NASA we would not have new technology, no updates on space, and we wouldn't be able to predict weather. People are grateful for the things that NASA has given us. A world without NASA is like being lost in space. There is more to come from NASA than what we know today. NASA has also made history based on their discovery and the catastrophe.

The budget deflects upon the space program in Florida just to get astrounauts into space.NASA also affects our economy in a positive way by improving on the little things. NASA raises money for every suceeded launch. NASA helps our economy by making new explorations so kids can learn about what is taken beyond earths orbit. NASA has improved our education in science over the past years since the space program has improved. NASA has caused Businesses to open up thru the years. NASA has improved technology and other softwares that they run with machines and computers. If they suceed they apply them to the world. NASA has fundraisers to help support their program and they sometimes even donate to charity. NASA has affected the economy in a negetive way as well. The money that they spend on equipment, fuel, and etc is ridiculous, but it also has a positive impact becasue it helps the companies to gain revenue by the resources that NASA buys from them. NASA also helps the economy because when tey have their launches people drive to the space center to watch the lauch which leads to people buying more gas. When NASA stops the launches it will affect the businesses becaus they don't have NASA supporting their business funds which means that it will causes the economy to drop. But also good will come out because it will help save money thru out the economy

  70. NASA impacts Florida’s economy in some ways. NASA nasa is a big part of Florida's economy and culture. It brings some tourism to Florida because poeple would like to see shuttle launches and brings people from all over the world. NASA’s program gave thousands of people jobs, it helped develop the now highly impacting heart pump, and finally, it helped the children of today learn some new things in around and well away from Earth that wouldn't have been figured out or found if it wasn't for NASA. Although in my eyes as well as other peoples its a waste of money and time. Cause I don't feel its absolutely necessary to learn about whats outside of our planet. The only way it would prove me wrong is if they find something that actually matters like a cure for a disease or how to save us from something. Other then that I dont feel that its absolutely necessary to have a program like this that aquires so much money to optain.
NASA has had some projects to do. NASA has affected Florida in economical and cultural way. The workers do get payed more and have to live up to the pay, making them work harder. NASAs first project totaled at around $3.6 billion dollars. The end result was positive in a way Florida ended up with 1.8 billion for household income, and 34,000 jobs out of it.
Continuing from my opinion in my first pharagraph our tax money went toward the NASA program. Not to say that giving our taxes to this kind of cause is bad because it’s not, but there are many other things that the money that was funded could of went to. But a lot of people around the world travel to see the launches. So the expenses for the plane tickets and everything else out there benefited with a lot of money that people spent to travel to see the NASA spaceships launch. So it wasn't a total bust but I still think we could've put our money somewhere else and I agree with it recently being shut down.
NASA has been in Florida for the past 29 years. In 2011, NASA was ordered to shut down due to shortage in government funding. NASA has affected Florida’s economy both negatively and positively. But the positive ways that NASA has affected Florida's economy is by attracting tourists to Florida. It has also provided thousands of jobs for Floridans. I don't necessarily think there was a negative effect on the economy other then the cost to obtain it. But even without negative effects on the ecomony people still believed it was a waste of money which was really all it needed to get shut down. It was a superfluous cause that was taking our tax dollars. SO there for my opinion still stands with agreeing that this program would and should be shut down, especially how the economy has been the last few years.

  71. In Florida, NASA plays a huge role.

  72. NASA stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration. NASA has been a huge way that Florida and the whole Earth has discovered many things of Earth and space. NASA has discovered so many new and outstanding facts, events, and motions of space and Earth. 50 years ago the agency took us to the moon, flew space shuttles, built the international space Station and revealed the secrets of the cosmos. Funds were made because of how convincing and producting NASA was.
With the help of NASA ,it has developed our science of the world today. With out it what would the moon be to us? Would the moon just be a rock to us? Or an asteroid? With NASA we have gone beyond of what the eye can see. Beyond what the mind can imagine.
NASA space exploration has created many things but its not just NASA space exploration that has made a huge different. “NASA’s Space Bioscience Division has created a new medical tool for astronauts. This could vastly improve the health of millions of Earth-bound patients.” According to NASA.org. What this break through does is “When the Sun blasts its powerful energy in the direction of an astronaut, the capsule would sense dangerous levels of radiation and release medicine to help the body compensate.”
In the early NASA space exploration discovered, first Earth satellites. They also had success sending 12 people to the moon. They also made 6 success flights to mars. And 10 manned flights in the first year. They also discovered many flaus but also success from the Apollos.
In conclusion, NASA has made a huge impact. From observations, to steps on the moon. NASA was a very productive organization. NASA, inspired many young people to find their calling. And we moved one step up into understand our Earth better. Even if NASA made some big mistakes I do believe the rewards were greater.

There are many things that affect NASA and space exploration on the economy and culture of Florida. Florida is known for its space program. NASA has spent billions of dollars fueling our economy. Not everybody believes to spend all this money to this program. Many think that they could use this money for more down to earth programs. All in all, NASA has brought to this economy increases in tourism, employment directly related to space exploration, and jobs in private industry.
The space program has increased tourism. People come from all over the world to watch the space shuttles launch. They also visit the Kennedy Space center and learn about space exploration. That means more money goes to local business and that will help the economy. Now that the shuttle program has ended, people wonder how this will impact tourism in Florida. Tourism will continue to suffer until the Constellation program gets up and running.
Another way NASA has impacted Florida’s economy and culture is in the area of employment. Since 1958, the space program has increased the need for highly skilled employees. NASA uses engineers, scientist, and astronauts. There were about 18,000 employees that worked for NASA. The space shuttle program has been down for a couple years now. Many workers don’t have jobs now since it’s been down, but I’m sure that they’ve found jobs now.
And finally, NASA has brought many jobs to the surrounding areas in private industry. The space coast area has benefitted from the increased growth for over 50 yrs. According to a state study, in the 2008 economic year NASA generated 4.1 billion dollars in income and benefits for the state. 2.1 billion of that was in household income.
In conclusion, NASA has had many positive and negative effects on Florida’s economy and culture. The state benefitted during the height of the space program. Florida enjoyed increased visitors and reduction in unemployment. Now that many programs have been eliminated due to government budget cuts, Florida suffers. There has been much debate over the benefits to the space program in the future.

  74. The journey that NASA’s been taking into space and air have deepened human kind’s understanding of the universe, the advance technology that we have break through , and enhanced air travel safety and security. All of the accomplishments that NASAs had been shared a common education. In 2011, NASA was ordered to shut down due to shortage in government funding, and its economy. NASA did a good think to Florida economy by attracting tourists. The Apollo 17 mission in December 1972, NASA completed a fortunate engineering and scientific program. In 1975, NASA cooperated with the Soviet Union to achieve the first international human spaceflight, the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project (ASTP). This project successfully tested joint rendezvous and docking procedures for spacecraft from the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. After being launched separately from their respective countries, the Soyuz and Apollo crews met in space and conducted experiments for two days. In 1981 NASA returned to human spaceflight, with a new come back of a space shuttle. Sally K. Ride was the first American women to fly in space this was on June 18, 1983. This was another early milestone of a shuttle program. NASA is poised to return to flight again in summer 2005 with the STS-114 mission. By 1986, the design depicted a complex, large, and multipurpose facility. In 1984, authorized NASA to build a major new space station as a base for further exploration of space. In 1991, after much debate over the station's purpose and budget. Space Station Freedom is what NASA plans for a restructured facility.

NASA is a space agency that sends satellites and robots into our universe and other universes. NASA used to send people to space but they no longer do that due to budget cuts. Recent budget cuts have caused NASA to stop sending people to the moon because they can no longer afford it, and the budget cuts may lead to the end of the Mars program. NASA used to be funded about 18.7 billion dollars but President Obama has signed a paper to stop funding NASA. Due to the budget cuts they might have to shut down the mars program and they might not be able to send anymore satellites into space. NASA has already stopped the space shuttle program so no one will be able to go to space anymore in America, but they still send people to space in Russia.
The economy has affected NASA severally and it has also affected the culture of Florida. It has affected Florida because tourism is a big deal, and it is how Florida makes a lot of money because lots of people used to visit Florida so they could see the space shuttle launch, but now that won’t be happening anymore. Florida’s will lose tourism money, because they made about 1 million dollars just with people watching the space shuttle launch, and people taking the tour of the Kennedy space center. In 2007 Florida made about 61 billion dollars just in tourism. The Kennedy space center charges about 43 dollars per person to take a tour, so they will lose a lot of money because of funding. With NASA not being funded, a lot of people will lose their jobs and NASA is losing a lot of money.
The culture of Florida is affected by NASA because; NASA helps out with the international space station and so they work with people all over the world. When astronauts go into space they live at the international space center, they are able to communicate with people from all over the world, and the space program is a worldwide program. People from all over the world go to space; they go to space in Japan, Russia, and Europe. Also if something really major were to happen in space, all the space agencies would need to be able to communicate with each other. Another thing is that people come from all around the world to watch the space shuttles launch from the Kennedy space center.
One way that NASA has affected Florida’s economy and culture is in employment. With the shuttle program shutting down, many people have lost their jobs. There were about 18,000 employees that worked for NASA, and most of them were laid off because NASA can’t afford to pay them because of the budget cuts.
To conclude, space exploration is a big topic that happens all around the world, and because of NASA we have been able to communicate with astronomers from all around the world. It is bad that people are not able to go to space anymore due to budget cuts, but one day NASA might have enough money to where the will be able to send people to space again in shuttles. NASA has helped with tourism in the state of Florida, and the Kennedy space center will still bring money to Florida. They won’t make as much money as they did in the past but NASA will save money because since they are not sending people to space anymore they will be able to use that money for different thing, including robots and telescopes. One day they may start sending people to space again in shuttles but that probably won’t be any time soon because of the bad economy right now. One scientists that works for NASA said that they might start astronauts to space in shuttles again in 2030, but that is only a possibly. NASA hopes to get there funding back so they can send more technology to space and venture farther into the universe.

  76. NASA is a space program that launches space shuttles into space for exploration. The launching site is here in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Obama has stopped the space program fully in America. This essay is about how the stop of Space Exploration is effecting Florida. It is going to slow the economy in Florida, eliminate 7,000-8,000 jobs and unemployment is raised 15%.

The stopping of the space exploration slowed the economy because a lot of tourist come to Florida to site see NASA and the space shuttles. If the shuttles aren’t lifting off anymore there is really no reason to see them. The funds already spent on the space program were supposed to be “Paid back” by tourism but since the stopping of the program, tourism rates have dropped rapidly. Statistics say that there will be a “5 year gap” until the tourism starts back up again in Cocoa Beach.

The stopping of the program has caused more than 7,000 people to lose their jobs. Over 40,000 were created by NASA and the start of the space program. Yet, Statistics say that those 7,000 people with have their job back with NASA within 5 years. But in between now and then those people have to find temporary jobs.

Another cause of the stopping of the program is the unemployment is rising 15%. Because so many people lost there jobs and the economy is so low they have to file for unemployment. Over 15,000 workers left the program to find other jobs in the region. Statistics say, Estimations of the economic aftereffects of the end of the shuttle program aren’t as grim as those figures for the post-Apollo period, but there will be repercussions nonetheless.

My conclusion, I feel like Obama shouldn’t of stopped the space program, not only is it a symbol of America it also hurt our country.

  77. You may ask yourself, “What would we do without NASA?” It had good effects on Florida’s economy and bad. It has brought people from all over the world, jobs, and caused the US quite a bit of money. NASA is still up and running, even though no space shuttles are being launched. People can still go to it in Florida to enjoy its history and sight seeing. It has also provided great information about space today.

It has created 34,000 jobs.

NASA has been here for 40 years, in that time it has had an effect on the economy. NASA has helped provide jobs. It has created 34,000 jobs. There are many people who still work at NASA, even though space exploration has come to an end, very few people got laid off. NASA has found new jobs for them to do. For example, my uncle works for NASA. He filled the gas in the space shuttles. Since that isn’t going to be any use anymore, he is now filling military planes, etc.

NASA has also brought people from around the world to visit the Kennedy Space Center ran by NASA.. It is a historic place. A lot of people love to come and see all of the space shuttles and learn more about it. This makes a good vacation. Also, people from schools come from all over the United States to visit the Kennedy Space Center. This is good in not just people satisfaction, but in money as well.

NASA has been in Florida for the past 40 years and many still go today. The Kennedy Space Center changes people’s lives today and will for future generations. Inspiring people and children to become part of the space program. Even though it costs a lot of money, I think it is still very good on Florida’s economy in most ways. NASA will continue doing space research by sending robots and space probes into space. Although they stopped sending people, they haven’t stopped researching and won’t stop anytime soon.

NASA has been in Florida for the past 40 years many have considered it a necessity to Florida’s economy. NASA states “Our work ranges from everyday operating of our facilities, to exploring the mind-boggling, furthest limits of the past, present, and the future of the universe.” This is the motto for all the NASA employees. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), was formed on
July 29th, 1958. It currently has approximately 18 thousand employees and an annual budget of 17.6 billion dollars. NASA employees have mostly positive things to say about their jobs, they love the working environment and being able to take place in something that will go down in history.

July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 landed on the moon. And Commander Neil Armstrong stepped out of the lunar module and took "one small step", calling it "a giant leap for mankind." That day made a huge impact on the economy. That day will forever go down in history, it will never be forgotten. Apollo’s 11, 12, 14, 15, 16 and 17 went on to land on the moon, studying soil mechanics, meteoroids, seismic, heat flow, lunar ranging, magnetic fields and solar wind. NASA has a huge history of studying and figuring out things that no one else has ever been able to figure out.

NASA also impacts our economy because it takes money from the local residents. Our tax money goes toward the NASA program. This could be a good thing, but they could also use that money to better our community and help solve local problems. Such as, the children right here in Lakeland that can’t afford food. But it’s not all bad; NASA also has many job opportunities; which our country is in desperate need of right now. NASA has both pros and cons.

NASA has researched, and found new ways and new things that could one day be very helpful to us. Although our President Barack Obama finds the NASA program not helpful at all, NASA research happening in Cape Canaveral Florida. We still find that it was very important when it came to Florida's economy. It brought several million dollars to Florida; people come from all over the United States just to see what NASA is all about and to be able to see what they do. Even though NASA isn’t doing much right now, people still come to visit it because it’s a huge part of our history and always will be.

Over all, NASA has both positive and Negative impacts on our economy. Some of the positive impacts are the money it brings in, the researcher that they have discovered and the tourism. Some of the negative impacts are that it’s taking our tax money, when it could go toward local problems. But, overall the things that NASA has done will forever go down in history. The research that has been performed, and the things that have been discovered has only been done because of the hard work of many employees working for or at NASA.

  79. Nasa has affected us in many ways. Nasa has affected Florida with our economy, space exploration, and our culture. Nasa has been in service since 1958 and its discoveries have helped the USA to become more advanced in its technology. Nasa landed 12 people on the moon between '68-'72.
The first thing that nasa has affected florida is our economy. Nasa has helped our economy in a few ways. Nasa has brought more tourism to florida because of the space shuttles. Nasa also gives many jobs to people in florida so if it shut down many jobs will be lost.
The second thing is that space exploration. Space exploration is the main thing Nasa is known for. Space exploration includes going to the moon and sending probes to other plants to study them. In response of space exploration 12 people were landed on the moon between 1968-1972.
The last thing is Florida's culture. Nasa has changed florida's culture a few ways. The first way is that because many people in florida watch the shuttles when they are any. Also they are field trips from schools to go to cape canaveral.
Overall Nasa has affected Florida in many ways. Those ways have helped Florida. The ways are economy, space exploration, and culture.

NASA effects our economy and culture in many ways. NASA has been a part of
Florida’s big achievements and has become something Florida is known for. NASA effects our economy by creating many jobs for American citizens, they also use money from tax payers to fund the research. NASA effects Florida’s culture by having lots of tourists visit for shuttle take offs and to see the NASA museums.
When NASA was building a shuttle, it supplied over 550 jobs to people. The reason for this is that the Kennedy Space Center combined with Florida Space to raise funds and manufacture jobs. Florida Space agreed to move their headquarters to where the Kennedy Space Center had theirs and began working together in 2011.
Taxes have been passed to give some extra money to NASA. But a few years ago NASA stopped taking taxes because they did not get what they needed to continue research. NASA stopped building shuttles and sending people into space in 2011 due to low funds.
Tourists visit Florida to see the NASA space museum and experience what it is like in space. The money tourists bring into Florida helps our economy considering a lot of NASA’s things and tours cost a great deal of money.

  81. The topic on the essay is about the stop of NASA shuttle launches in space for exploration. The launches take place in Cocoa beach, Florida. But what I want to know is, will the stop of space exploration effect us or benefit us? Or will they bring it back or let over 7,000 people lose their jobs?

One way that the stop of shuttle launches effect us is, tourism. Tourism plays a huge role in of how the usa makes money and with the stop, now they lose money. So many people come from everywhere just to see that space shuttle launch, but not anymore. Now the government has to pay back the people who pay to watch the shuttle launch.

Another way that NASA effected the economy is that they are laying off over thousands of people. Statistics say that in 2006, they "highered 17,059 people." Now they have to fire them. Think of the astronauts that have been in space many times, and then they find out they wont have a job anymore. When NASA started they hired more than 40,000 people, but statistics say that only 7,000 people will have their jobs back within the next 3 to 6 years. Hopefully, the people that were laid off, have steady jobs and can pay their bills.

There is actually benefits from the stopping of space exploration. One is that it is helping with the development of military air lines and such. With it helping with that development it helps keep us safe and sound around other planes or any technology. Another benfit is that the stop, saves the government money. NASA doesn't have to worry about spend over millions of dollars to build the parts. Also they dont have to spend money to put the parts of the shuttle on the shuttle.

I conclude that it isn't a good idea to take away the shuttle launches. It is a great way for young children to learn and have fun with the NASA space program. Even though it does cost a lot of money to launch; it saves thousands of people jobs and we could one day find something in space that we didnt find out about before. So the same questions still lies here with, will the stop of space exploration effect us or benefit us? Or will they bring it back or let over 7,000 people lose their jobs?

  82. NASA’s space exploration has been around for many generations. Although if your career wasn't to become one of the astronauts, NASA has provided many people with a variety of job offers. However now with the space exploration’s budget being cut these opportunities have been removed. Many students in college has changed or transferred their profession because of this. People are often left unemployed and students are transferring because of this lost. It has created a decline in our economy.

The NASA being shut down has put many people out of jobs. There are over a hundred jobs you would be able to do at NASA and now all the people are unemployed. According to NASA they provide jobs like for scientists, engineers, IT specialists, human resources specialists, accountants, writers, technicians and much more. Without NASA the rate of unemployment will skyrocket.

With the help of NASA we have the technology we use today. According to NASA they have created technology for health and medicine, transportation, public safety, consumer, home, and recreation, industrial productivity and much more. Without NASA and space exploration we wouldn't have new technology for our future problems. Also NASA helps us with our acknowledgement about the solar system and the universe around us. Without them we wouldn't be able to have that much of a reliable resource.

Also because of the budget cut for NASA, many students are changing their profession if wanting to work for them. NASA has encouraged campus students to pursue their career in earth and space sciences. NASA over the years have provided students with internships, space programs and summer employment. However now students would be provided with these programs and most of them will change their profession.

Florida greatly benefits from NASA and its space exploration. Without it , it can do damage. Where it can most do damage is with the employment rate, education, and our benefits from it providing us tourism. Without NASA the rate of unemployment will skyrocket.Without NASA and space exploration we wouldn't have new technology for our future problems. We wouldn't have a reliable source and their wouldn't be anyone out in the field for us if students change their profession.

Then you speed up till now and there getting shut down.

At the end of the shuttle program will get rid of about 8,000 jobs.

The things NASA does is for our safety and also our interest, but our safety and interest come with a price. When we work, half our goes to billing, caring for our kids, and helping our community.NASA Centers put $1.68 billion into the Florida economy and $1.60 billion into the Brevard County economy to support space program launch and landing operations at KSC (Kennedy Space Center).

Even though NASA is shutting down their shuttling system because it seems nobody has any interest in space anymore.

We see the transformative effects of the Space Economy all around us through numerous technologies and life-saving capabilities. We see the Space Economy in the lives saved when advanced breast cancer screening catches tumors in time for treatment, or when a heart defibrillator restores the proper rhythm of a patient’s heart. We see this when weather satellites warn us of coming hurricanes, or also when satellites provide information critical to understanding our environment and the effects of climate change. Technologies developed for exploring space are being used to increase crop yields and to search for good fishing regions at sea.
The origin and eventual fate of the universe still remains one of the greatest questions in science. Gravity and energy influence the development and life cycles of cycles, including our Milky Way Galaxy, stars, the planetary systems, Earth, and residual material left from the formation of the solar system. Humankind’s need to explore continues to lead to the development of knowledge and understanding of the nature of the Universe. Gravity and energy influence the formation of galaxies, including our own Milky Way Galaxy, stars, the planetary systems, and Earth. Humankind’s need to explore continues to lead to the development of knowledge and understanding of the nature of the Universe.
The space exploration has changed Florida's economy because without space exploration we would not have the technology we have today such as laptops and video game controllers. But the business of space exploration is hard, very hard. Thus, it demands the greatest effort we can put forward; the greatest minds, the greatest talents, the most inventive and innovative solutions to challenges — the stuff of which new knowledge, understanding, technology, and human capability is made.
Over the decades, discoveries and products spawned by the space program have improved life on Earth in countless ways. We owe hundreds of advances in transportation, the environment, medicine, manufacturing, computing and other areas to the scientists, engineers and mathematicians working at NASA and in space-related industries. In fact, over the past 35 years, NASA research has generated more than 1,700 spin-off products, many manufactured in Florida. Beginning in the 1870s, residents from northern states visited Florida as tourists to enjoy the state's natural beauty and mild climate. Steamboat tours on Florida's winding rivers were a popular attraction for these visitors.
Florida's economy is heavily based on tourism. Warm weather most of the year and hundreds of miles of beach provide a thriving vacation spot for travelers from around the world. The large Walt Disney World theme park and resort complex, located near Orlando, drives the economy of that area, along with more recent entries into the theme park arena such as the Universal Orlando Resort. The great amount of sales tax revenue is what allows the state to be one of the few to not levy a personal income tax. Other major industries include citrus fruit and juice production, banking, and phosphate mining. With the arrival of the space program at Kennedy Space Center in the 1960s, Florida has attracted a large number of aerospace and military industries to the state. Florida did not have any state minimum wage laws until November 2, 2004, when voters passed a Constitutional Amendment requiring inflationary increases to the minimum wage every six months.

  85. In Florida NASA plays a huge role. The Kennedy Space Center is placed right in the center of Florida. NASA impacts Florida’s culture and economy. Educators and students across the state will celebrate the fourth annual Math and Science Day by learning about space exploration. Over the decades, discoveries and products spawned by the space program have improved life on Earth in endless ways. NASA also impacts our economy. People argue that space exploration has shaped our worldviews in many ways. The NASA program has helped us discover more about earths geological history . NASA research has generated more than 1,700 products, a lot have been made in Florida. NASA has affected Florida in many ways such economy, history ,and technology .
NASA has affected Florida’s and earth’s history and culture by being able to support answers about the known universe . And it shows us the history and other stuff that happened many years ago that used to not be able to explain. But now that we have a better understanding of the universe we better understand that the markings on earth of big impacts were meteors hitting the earth. But it has impacted our culture through showing us that what was once impossible is possible. Like how we have sent men to the moon when it at one time seemed to be impossible. We have also sent up satellites to orbit Earth and take pictures of earth.by doing this way we have been able to upgrade our maps and be able to get more accurate images of earth that are not distorted. We can also see what is going on in other parts of the world using this. So NASA has affected Earth’s history and its culture even it seems like it all is a big waste.
NASA has also affected Florida’s economy. It takes money from the local residents. Our tax money goes toward the NASA program. This could be a good thing, but they could also use that money to better our neighborhoods. In the article Economic Impact of NASA in Florida FY 2006 "The spending by the Visitor Center attributed to out-of-state visitors and the local travel expenditures of KSC business visitors’ resulted in a total injection of nearly $23 million dollars into the local economy in FY 2006." This is the good side of NASA that supports our economy. And I’m sure that they were doing a very good thing by giving back some of the money that goes into NASA. By doing this they are promoting themselves and showing the people that they mean good. NASA also would increase the jobs in the community. Not to mention the jobs it supplies in the state our economy is in today, we need that. Altogether, the space industry’s economic impact in Florida is estimated at $20 billion a year. Those are that ways in which NASA has affected the economy.

  86. NASA has also affected Florida’s technology. We owe hundreds of advances in transportation, the environment, medicine, manufacturing, computing and other areas to the scientists, engineers and mathematicians working at NASA. In fact, over the past 35 years, NASA research has generated more than 1,700 products, many manufactured in Florida. These products save time, money and even lives. Like Phototrophic cells filled with millions of photosynthetic bacteria that not only purify water in space, but remediate wastewater systems and help clean up oil spills on Earth. A miniature ion mobility spectrometer that detects chemicals on distant planets but also provides soldiers with portable explosives and chemical detection. The space program has had, and still has, its technological challenges, and the economic benefits may be even longer term than the railroad. Programs to explore the planets, build and operate large space telescopes and space stations, or take humans to the moon and Mars require that the public have a vested interest. NASA in turn is not a waste of time or money. It has already brought results such as manufactured goods that have improved lives and made are lives easier. Thanks to NASA we now know more about the void we call space. Explanations of the past of earth and the beginning of the solar system have been benefited because of NASA. Think of NASA as a investment you put in and you get out more. There is more benefits then anyone could of ever thought its defiantly worth saving NASA

NASA is a government funded research facility. It specializes in astronomy and space shuttle development. NASA stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration. It was founded on July 29, 1958. It has over 12 centers stationed in America. Each center funds research for the overall NASA Corporation.
NASA received a major budget cut due to America’s economic crisis. Research funding was cut. This meant that NASA had less money. This money would have been contributed to research and building within the NASA Corporation. Since the budget cut had occurred many people lost their jobs. This spiked the unemployment rate dramatically.
In the past few years, NASA has gone through numerous budget cuts. When the budget cut occurred many people lost their jobs. Unemployment rates rose drastically. The reason so many people lost their jobs was because NASA didn’t have the money to employee as many people. The result of that were people being let go from NASA. NASA still continued research as much as they could without as many employees.
This impacted Florida’s economy immensely. Many people were already unemployed at the time. When the NASA budget cut came around, it made the situation worse. Millions of people lost their jobs due to budget cuts. 8,000 of those people lost their jobs due to the NASA budget cuts. Florida’s unemployment rate increased while income decreased.
The impact of NASA’s budget cuts on Florida had a lot of damage. 8,000 people lost their jobs due to NASA budget cuts. It was bad enough that people already lost their jobs because of previous budget cuts. Then funding for a national cause was reduced creating more job losses. NASA is a productive organization and shouldn’t have received budget cuts. Hopefully, NASA will be able to continue their research despite major budget cuts.

Period 4In the budget cuts the space shuttle program lost momentum and is now no longer launching any more space shuttles. The last shuttle to be launched was to be the Discovery. The cuts were very dramatic made not only by President Obama but also by Governor Rick Scott. The cut will cause the loss of more than 8000 jobs of technicians, engineers, and other people that have to do with the retirement of the shuttles. The loss of jobs will affect the economy a lot.
The budget cuts do not only affect Florida. They also will affect Texas and other states such as California. Texas and California will be affected because there are Nasa stations there and the shuttles sometimes landed there. Texas will have to lose thousands of jobs from the budget cuts. They will lose the jobs because the engineers have no use in the shuttle Industry anymore. California sometimes sent other airplanes to guild the shuttle back down.
While America is not doing anything with the space program other counties are moving ahead with the space race. Those countries could be Russia, China, and even India. Russia is our biggest rivals in the space race. China is our biggest importer. India has never done any good in the Space race or at least nothing notable. We are going to fall behind in the world’s race and we will lose lots of the money we have been gaining.
The Countries like china and India are rising to the occasion and becoming more involved with space. The country has to decide all together what they want to spend the money on and the country didn’t choose the space program. The space program for humans is being replaced with artificial things such as robots. The robots can do more than humans can and also can discover planets that are far away.
The budget cuts will make the country weaker economically. The country is going to need to be rebuilding from where it is now and we will have to have the country doin everything it can with the robots to make tons of discoveries. The robots will let the world make huge discoveries. The robots making discoveries are going to help rebuild the country. Nasa will rebuild the country. The Budget cuts will not affect the country besides Nasa’s space program.

NASA created many jobs in Florida. If NASA didn’t give many people jobs that would really impact the economy. NASA also finds ways to make different things that help people in Florida do things better like doctors. Many people in Florida use different inventions by NASA.

NASA has effected space exploration and many other things in a lot of ways. It has helped people through out the whole world and it has made huge impacts on our society. But with out the NASA program a lot of people wouldn't of had jobs and wouldn't of been able to experience the great things NASA as brought out in our world today.

One of the most important effects of NASA and space exploration is the improvements in medical, technological and other fields. New equipment has been discovered because of the space exploration program. NASA has a major influence on career fields and inventions.

NASA has benifitted Florida for many reasons. Tourism has been affected, also developing things to better the community and also provides Florida with more funding. Florida is a big part of NASA since we are home to the Kennedy Space Center, and the launch pad.

NASA has discovered many things in our universe. We have discovered new galaxies, earth-like planets, nebulas. Without NASA we would not find out about these discoveries. In 2011 NASA has been shut down due to government funding. At the time, it was very worrisome knowing that Florida might lose their precious space program. 97% of the Global Space Market is Florida Market opportunity. President Barack Obamas next move was to cancel NASA’s Constellations program.

Kennedy Space center is a big tourist attraction. It helps Florida bring more people, more people equals more profit, more profit equals more money. Tourists that are fascinated by NASA or astronomy would love to go see the space shuttle every year. According to NASA, 100 tourists would go and watch the space shuttle. There are 29 space shuttles. Kennedy Space center costs $49 per person which means a lot of profit.

NASA’s tourism isn’t the only thing that helps Florida’s Economy. According to NASA’s recent studies, it has giving 40,000 jobs. It has also given, over $2 billion in household income. Also, NASA has given us hundreds of millions of dollars in federal, state and local taxes. We, as Floridians, worry about that type of stuff. $17.8 billion dollars was used in 2010 for Aerospace or anything related to NASA.

There are some pros about keeping the NASA program, but there are also some cons. We need equipment to experiment with new technology. NASA’s strategies have been successful, others have failed. The equipment that NASA uses to created probes, satellites, telescopes, etc. can cost up to $100 million dollars. It is very expensive to come up with the equipment to send people in space, especially the moon. In fact, in an article, NASA has stated that some of the projects were failures or not fundable.

I can see Obamas perspective on why he would shut down the space program because of the costs. There are still discoveries that need to be found by us humans. You never know, right now there could be a planet just like us, but we will never know. If we shut down the space program we can miss out on information that can be very vital to us. Yes, NASA might be very expensive. It’s all in a matter of time before we have our program once more.

This essay is on NASA, and its impact on Florida’s economy. It will discuss the good things NASA provides for the state and the bad things that have happened over time with it. It will also talk about the times and dates of special and important events during the time that NASA was still in buisness.

President Kennedy had challenged the nation. It
was the mission of Apollo 11 to land two men on the moon, and then return them safely
to Earth. It was one of the most historic events ever. It demonstrated what man can do with
effort, ingenuity and self endurance. On July 20, 1969, Commander Neil Armstrong became the first
man on the moon. He said these well known famous words, "One small step for man, one giant leap for
mankind." Each flight is unique and extremely complicated to control and each commander must go through intense training before he can be a pilot.
So what does this mean for Florida's Economy? according to NASA.gov and a few other sites- Under the most current Obama plan, NASA astronauts will hitch rides to the space
station on Russian Soyuz rockets for the near future. Eventually, NASA hopes that U.S.
commercial launch companies will be carrying cargo and crew to the station. SpaceX and
Orbital Sciences have already been awarded $3.5 billion in contracts to deliver cargo
after the shuttles retire. NASA expects to keep the space station running through 2020.
President Barack Obama has stated that he wants to change the focus of the nation's space
program so this country can continue to be the world's space explorers. As part of this
initiative, the government will turn the space shuttle program over to private contractors
and apply the cost savings toward future space exploration. In 2006, Lockheed Martin
received a contract to produce the Orion spacecraft. They have charge of the product
from design conception through production. It is part of a program to eventually send
explorers to Mars and other parts of our solar system. It will be launched from the
Kennedy Space Center, with test flights possibly as early as 2015. Meanwhile, during the
interim, many central Florida workers fear they will lose their jobs. Whichhas now already taken place and many have lost their jobs and many still have jobs. (according to Inspirational Press)
So wheres all the money coming from for the people who still have jobs? Commerce Secretary Gary Locke, has been meeting to develop a plan to spend that
money. At a public meeting in Orlando, Bolden said that $30 million would be used for
regional economic growth and the other $10 million for job training activities. That, plus
a separate $15-million Department of Labor grant to the Space Coast region, has
generated criticism elsewhere, particularly in Texas, where the focus on the Space Coast
is seen as political favoritism of a swing state versus solidly Republican states like
Alabama, Texas, and Utah, who will also feel the impact of the end of the shuttle
program and the proposed cancellation of Constellation.
This is honestly a tragedy to many families who watched the first shuttle blast off, and have shared it with their family for years. But, according to others this can "help" our economy and save more money, because the Government will not have to pay as much to power the space station. I Personally think that closing the space station was a bad idea because it meant so much to so many people and it was a family tradition for a lot of people too.

  92. NASA has been in Florida for the Past 40 years. NASA helps a lot of people and families life. NASA has helped in tourism and jobs. NASA helps the world in a lot of different ways. NASA helps the world to grow. It also helps technology a lot. NASA gives us people a better view of the Universe. NASA is going to help the world in the future generations.
In 1960’s President Kennedy sent astraunaughts to space. In 1969 he sent 12 men to the moon. From that day, men are still going to up the universe to help us learn more about the universe. The people that go to space, helps us in a lot of ways. They go to the moon and see how it’s doing. If we didn’t have astranughts, we wouldn’t have known anything about space. But it’s very dangerous for astranaghts to go to space.
In 1980, United States spent about 3 trillion dollars’ worth in output in producing and consuming. NASA spends a lot of money. Sometimes, a lot of people lose their job. NASA is not a steady job. NASA sometimes doesn’t have enough money to give to the employers. So they sometime quit or get fired. But NASA helps Florida a lot.

NASA helps us in a lot of ways. Even though, they spend tons of money. But they always get their money back. They also get a lot of money because of the tourists. They come to visit NASA. NASA has a museum, and it attracts a lot of tourists. That’s why NASA has a good income. NASA also has a ride, its kind of like a simulator, it pretends like your going to space. It lets you experience how to go to space, how astronomers feel when they are going to space. This ride attracts a lot of people from everywhere, and that’s why NASA has a good income.
NASA is now doing really good, Florida has a good income. NASA is inventing a lot of good instruments to understand space better. If it wasn’t for the 12 astronomers or NASA we wouldn’t have known anything about space, starts, or how they function. NASA now has a really good income. A lot of people are not loosing their jobs anymore, because now NASA is in good progress. In the future NASA is going to have a better economy and is going to make more new inventions.

NASA,this is a name that kids know from age 5 to age 100. NASA is a big part in Florida's history and Americas history. NASA has made so many discoveries. Without NASA we would most likely not of had space discovery at the time we did. Without NASA would we know the planets? the moon? could we have EVER gone to space?
We think that NASA is nothing but good, but is that true? Is NASA trying our economy? NASA does cost billions of dollars. But i think it is worth it. We learn more about space and future electricity ideas. Florida also benefits from NASA because of tourist. Florida has always been popular with the beaches, amusement parks, and national places. NASA and Kennedy space center being one of them.
As we all know NASA has been shut down recently and that has tragically effected the economy. It has effected it by putting many people out of their jobs. Putting people out of their jobs brings the unemployment rate way up. The economy is not ONLY effected by this disaster of more than 7,000 people loosing their jobs but this is a big part in it.
We have NASA not just for jobs or tourism. We have NASA for our benefit. We need NASA so that we can learn about space. There is mainly only two places that study space like NASA. Now America is not a big part of one of those two. This is not just effecting us, it effects the world. This is how NASA effects the culture and economy in Florida.

  94. NASA effects our economy and culture in many ways. NASA has been a part of Florida’s big achievements and has become something Florida is known for nasa has created jobs for most people that are good with space but now the local unemployment rate has already risen to 11.9 percent at present, largely due to the nationwide economic problems because most space workers get fired from there job but dont have nothing else to do.
Nasa being shutdown has put many people in debt in florida cause they dont have the money to support there family needs and most of them cant really get a job that can fit them. At the beginning of the decade, NASA employed a space-going staff of around 150 now, that number is down to 61 with two retirements imminent the paper reported.
With te help of Nasa has help we today use tecnology and nasa also tell us about what is around the earth that we can't see and they also tell about the stars outside of earth and the Sun is the star at the center of the Solar System. Also it tells how earth looks from outside Without them we wouldn't be able to have that much of a reliable resource.
Tourists visit Florida to see the NASA space museum and experience what it is like in space. Most of these people watch when the psace shuttle leaves florida and most resident does the same when its exiting out of the moon. People are likely attracted to when the racket leaves earth and then come back to see there lovely ones that they have never seen for long time. When tourists comes they give te nasa money which they use for space.
In Space exploration nasa send 12 people to the moon and started from 1968-1972 then they. Nasa has culture forflorida because it tells children about what they do in space what what kind of stuff is really in space. Without nasa things can go bad to the earth and we can die because we dont know what hit us from space and how to protectour self so nasa have a influence on us.

  95. On July 29, 1958, a program called NASA was created. NASA has a lot of reasons for being a major part of our economy, mainly for the good. NASA brought about multiple types of job opportunities for many people, they helped to advance our technology for the future and use the technology that they create to better our world, and they bring tourists from all around the country, sometimes even the world. From a more personal aspect, I believe that NASA has quite a positive aspect on our economy, and also a good cultural aspect with the touring, and the information that is shared with us. NASA is a government funded company and they create income to our state. Not only do they bring income, but they also bring tourists due to making our state recognized.

NASA has opened many job opportunities to people all around the state of Florida and even some abroad. Many jobs that NASA offers, are technology involved and have many requirements. Even though NASA’s jobs aren’t designed for the average person, so to say, they are still jobs, and give someone an opportunity at a career. A person who is working is automatically a boost to Florida’s economy. I say this because money works in a circle, similar to a food chain. In order to keep Florida’s economy up, people have to be spending money in Florida, and on companies that are located in Florida. NASA pays people to work for them, and those people living in Florida also spend their money in Florida. This will create a boost in our economy.

Being a company that is based around technology, NASA also advances our technology and makes it better. NASA uses a lot of technology for it’s studies, and the studies help us. The have created satellites, telescopes, and computers. Due to the technology creations, and studies that they have created, we have also had major advances medical technology. NASA creating technology in our state, produces an increase in our economy. Testing and creating technology may cause a tiny drop in our economy while it is still in production, but then generally pays for itself in the end.

Tourism creates a large income for different states all over for the country. For Florida, one of our main places of tourism is NASA. Having places to tour can bring in money, creating a boost in our state’s economy. People can visit and take tours of different parts of NASA. Many people used to enjoy watching space shuttles take off from the NASA space center. People can come from anywhere, and make a vacation out of going to our NASA space center here in Florida.

NASA has a lot reasons to be considered a major part of Florida’s economy. Between the fact of the extensive job opportunities, the advances in technology, or the touring opportunities. There are so many good economic reasons of having NASA in Florida. They have extravagant research and they offer many opportunities to our communities. They are creative and offer a lot to our studies in the United States. I can’t see many reasons for NASA to be worse on our economy than better.

NASA has been going through some tough times. Not only on NASA but the community around the United States. There has been riots and arguments on why President Obama and the government cut the NASA organization. The congress passed an act and explained on why they have been cutting NASA explorations. They also explained that they could be spending on the money NASA has been exploring for the past 59 years. There has been mixed feelings about this topic around the country. As the government has been in desperate need Some people think it is important to explore and to know what is out there either for new life or either for emergencies needed such as meteor showers or other world tragedy's.
Not only that the NASA was cut into the government spending they have been studying Mars for over ten years. But the big moment for this was to cut NASA because, the government was way to serious about spending extra money on exploring space.at this moment on it will not be resumed says the author of the NASA organization. He also explained that they are still protesting on that they should still be resuming and sending exploration to a next level. They have been using technology for the past 59 years. But the government explains that they want to introduce to America the "leap frog" technology. There were also different opinions with the congress. Some people did not want to cut the program. This is because, they had mixed feelings on why they should or not.
Although they were going to set a year on exploring to Mars. They were going to explore Mars to the next level. Instead of sending robots they were going to send humans to land on Mars. This was lead up to the year 2016. That year was the planned year. the space explorations explained every cause and effect of what could go wrong. The reason Obama set the budget cut so high was because, he wanted to see what the money form NASA could help the government. The real question is how much did they cut from the organization? on the other hand researchers though that they cut up to 2.5 billion dollars to help with the governments "real" issues.
An author form the times explained," if something wrong goes bad with the money cut from NASA then the money that was cut will never come back to get the opportunity to explore again. There are other charity's that are donating to the NASA research program. What they are doing is regrouping with other parties and consuming money to take back form the billions of dollars spent. Many scientists believe that astronauts should not be shot to explore Mars because, they explain that if something goes wrong with the communication sources that was cut then the life's would be at risk. They also said if they were to come back with nothing then there will never get the money as trusted by the government.
There will always be different mixed opinions about cutting money from NASA. As times goes on there will always be confusion with the community and NASA. They will always be choices that never might come up because, of the money situation. The government is in control all the time. And if NASA can break form that then I think that they will not have to worry about the cuts of spending. The government has spent million and millions on other situations like heath care or the environment of the oil spill. If there weren't so many distractions then I think NASA would not be cut.

  97. NASA, or (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) is a government funded research facility that is located in Florida. NASA has done many great things for technology and science, but NASA has also affected Florida's economy. NASA has not only benefited Florida's economy but also has some negative effects.

Kennedy space center has come a long way. Five decades ago is when the space center began to develop on Florida's east coast. Then in the 1960's we both orbited earth and then landed on the moon. Since then we have made more advancements in technology that has changed our lives forever. Like the Apollo mission's technology has computing and many other things we use every day. Nowadays we still use many of these technologies and continue to move forward in the exploration of space and what we know about ourselves and the universe around us.

NASA has created great advancements in technology that has greatly affected the course of history. NASA has also created many jobs that helped the economy. This facility has also been a great place for tourists to visit. Tourism also helps boost Florida's economy. Tourism creates money Florida earns much of its money from this. This is part of the reason why we need NASA and the space center to continue.

We have recently gone through some budget cuts. These budget cuts have affected the research facilities especially. NASA being one of these has had some recent budget cuts. When NASA is affected with these budget cuts so is Florida. This is because NASA plays such a huge role in Florida's economy. With budget cuts NASA has had to cut back on certain things.

This especially affected the workers. The low budget means less money for NASA. Less money for NASA means that they would have to stop certain programs. That means that they no longer need so many workers which lead to a decrease in jobs. The decrease in jobs adds to the unemployment rate. This is very bad for Florida's economy.

NASA is a great program that has improved our daily lives. Not only has it improved our lives here in Florida through the economy but all over the world. With NASA's great advancements in technology and its ability to provide jobs we have taken a giant step forward in improving the world.

  98. Nasa was a program that was organized in July, 1958. The program offered many opportunities for people throughout the United States, one of the main placed being Florida. There are so many things that can advance Florida through Nasa. They do extensive research to advance many parts of our technology. They also have a main role in bringing people to our state of Florida for touring purposes. The last reason that I believe helps the economy is that the offer job opportunities to many scientists and astronomers.

Nasa is a program that does research on a daily basis. They are based around technology and it plays a very important role in the production and the advancements that are made in our technology. They create and send satellites into space to do further research that Earth’s atmosphere can block them from receiving. They used to send astronauts to space, but it is said to be extremely dangerous and that is is very expensive. That is one of the things that I feel was bad about Nasa on Florida’s economy. Other than that, I feel like the studies that are performed at Nasa are helpful to Florida.

Nasa is a place where science is done, and there is a lot of people working there. You can also take tours there. A lot of people will travel a great distance for great opportunities to tour various places. Bringing people to Florida will cause them to spend money in Florida. When they are spending money here, they are enhancing our economy. People that are coming, are bringing profits to our state and they are helping our economy by funding it.

People all over the United States are looking for jobs. Nasa has many opportunities for scientists and astronomers. There are many jobs that have to be filled at such a large place. Some of their work is also dangerous. When people are working jobs, that means that the economy in certain areas may be better. It is good to have a place in Florida that offers such an immense amount of jobs available at a place in our state.

Such a big program can’t do too much harm to our economy while things are running smooth. Nasa is mainly funded by the government. This means that the program gets a lot of it’s money for the government. This program does offer a lot back to the United States and Florida. Between the research and technology, the touring, and the jobs, they bring a lot of people to our state of Florida. They do a lot of good for us, that a lot of the bad stuff is looked past.

NASA is an organization that has been around since July 29, 1958. Many positive things have come from it and many discoveries would not have been made if it were not for NASA. Because of the determination of the U.S, we were the first country to enter space; along with the first country to actually have men on the moon. NASA’s space exploration does have some effects on the economy and culture of Florida. There are multiple reasons that follow behind these questions, but I’m going to go over a few of them.

To begin, NASA effect's Florida's economy because the funds that being circulated throughout Florida are being cut very short. This hitting schools, peoples jobs, big organizations; such as NASA. With money being such a big problem, their needs to be cuts on what is important and what isn’t. Even with everything that NASA has accomplished for the United States, it is not a program that is needed. This is why in 2010, the 29 year space program was shut down.

Next, NASA used up a lot of money in the processes of launching spacecrafts. To begin, the annual salary of the workers that were currently working was $77,235 a year. This actually doubles that of a regular worker. When the program ended in 2010, their was a total of 8,000 contractors and other space workers that were let go. With this happening, you then had people going to look for jobs, houses not being able to be paid; same with bills. This will tremendously create problems within Florida’s economy. This is just from one company being shut down.

Lastly, NASA has been involved with Florida’s culture so many ways. Cape Canaveral has been a place that Floridians can go, enjoy family time, and go watch the launch of Space shuttles get sent to space. Many kids, including my self, have seen this in person. I have to tell you it is something so special. When I found out that the program was being shut down, I was sad. I can only imagine how other people, older than me felt knowing that a program they also grew up with, was being shut down.

In conclusion, NASA was very important to Florida in many ways. People were attached to the program, followed ever moved it made, dedicated time and money into it. NASA brought in a lot of money to Florida, yet once it shut down also brought a lot of heart break to thousands of family’s. Bills couldn’t get paid, houses were being lost, family’s on the streets. Those are the negatives of NASA, but not what it was all about.

  100. NASA has been here for a long time. NASA helps the world in a lot of different ways. NASA helps the world to grow. It also helps technology a lot. NASA gives us people a better view of the Universe. NASA is going to help the world in the future generations.

NASA stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration. It was founded on July 29, 1958. It has over 12 centers stationed in America. Each center funds research for the overall NASA Corporation. NASA was getting huge budget cuts once upon of time which was not good at all for NASA. So once NASA started getting budget cuts that meant that NASA was losing money from them.

NASA is a very important space program it really is all about space. NASA had stopped sending people to space because of the budget cuts and they really didn't have enough money to let people go to space anymore. NASA use to be funded about 18.7 billion dollars. The economy has affected NASA severally and it has also affected the culture of Florida. And it really did effect Florida Because Tourism is a big deal. Florida will lose tourism money because many people watched the space shuttle blast off a lot.

NASA has brought space exploration a long way throughout it’s time. It has brought us up and down though out the years a lot. Many people think it was a very very great way to lose money but I think it was all worth it for some reason. It kind of did work out so you cant say it was a waste of money at all. NASA has also created benefits for us also along with some problems. But that's just NASA because it was not prefect at all just because it's Called NASA.

The workers also affect the economy and the culture because people get laid off. And when they get laid of they lose there money. Too many people work at one thing for NASA so someone had to get laid off and that's the person not doing there job. Many people felt bad for the people that got laid of and many people didn't care long as it wasn't them getting laid off. And the people that didn't get laid off just worked much harder so they wouldnt get laid off at all.

NASA is a space program that has been around for about 50 years. NASA has been running the space exploration to try to find out new discoveries about our world and the world outside. In 1969, on one of the Apollo missions, Neil Armstrong and his team were the first people to land on the moon. With this space program it has helped Florida in many ways. NASA has helped Florida change its culture and economy with tourism, helping people have jobs and giving advances in technology.
Funding, resources, motivates and methods of space flight, it is thought of as a backfire of space travel. Ending space travel has been seen in a bigger view to have draw backs just as well. Mainly because there will be a lack of creativity with the society might have to give back. Some have shown the age of discovery with mixed blessings. Consequences of space explorations can be viewed on many different levels: commercial applications, education and inspiration to the younger, applications satellites, scientific benefits, and philosophical implications. Those are ways that have been approached for the 50th anniversary.
The ending of the space exploration program is partly due to people who work in the space industry. NASA and many of their own private contractors. The thousands of tourists who come to the area to see launches and take tours of the Kennedy Space Center. All of that will change when the shuttle program is ended. A 5 year gap until the constellation program begins; the space coast may have a drop in its economy. The end of the space program will lay off about 7000 to 8000 people.
NASA has effected Florida's economy and culture is the advances in human technology. NASA has been improving America's space technology ever since the 1950's. Now we are able to adapt to satellites and space craft’s. Probes that are able to travel farther than our solar system are known as "robotic". Other robots are researching on Mars to see if it is the same composition as Earth. With NASA's technology we are able to learn a plethora of information about galaxies, planets, comets, constellations, solar systems, etc.

  103. NASA impacts Florida’s economy in a lot of ways. Like a lot of people come to see the shuttle launches so it’s kind of a tourist attraction. Nasa is going through a budget cut.
NASA impacts the economy because people from all over come to see the shuttle launches. The shuttles are really cool to watch because some people know the astronauts that are in the shuttle. The shuttle launches take place in cape Canaveral FL.

Kennedy space center has come a long way. Five decades ago is when the space center began to develop on Florida's east coast. Then in the 1960's we both orbited earth and then landed on the moon. in conlusion the NASA programs was costing to much money to fund. they had to get rid of people who worked for them and now they have less peopleand those familys are suffering. this is why we should have kept the program.

NASA was a space program that started in July 1958.NASA has effected Florida economy in positive and negative ways. NASA has given the people in the word a new look on space. It has helped with space exploration and learning many new things about space. Such as, new planets, comets, asteroids, the galaxy we live in which is the Milky Way Galaxy. Without NASA the world wouldn't know has much as we do today about space. NASA was shut down in 2011 because of the government not having enough founds to continue space exploration. That doesn't mean that all of NASA is shut down, only parts, such as the space shuttles. Some parts of Florida that benefit more then other is Brevard County is an example of a county that has really been helped, also the larger central region of Florida and the whole state itself. NASA has had a big help in the state of Florida, with helping our economy. In 2007, NASA $1.78 billion dollars into Florida economy. That is a lot for just one business to put into the economy of Florida. And just in Brevard county NASA had help the economy by $1.66 billion, in just that county. There a lot of benefits that NASA has given the state of Florida including helping the states economy. One of the most important area in Florida is Brevard county. Brevard county is important because that is the location of the many space launches. NASA has spent 1.78 billion dollars in Breard county just in 2007 , because of on site and off site contractors. And in other parts of central Florida NASA has helped the central part of Florida economy by $74 million dollars in that economy. There are also advantages for the state of Florida to have NASA in the state. A lot of tourist come down form other states just to see NASA, and of course Florida. Our business economy has also gone up just because NASA location. Most of the business in the Brevard Area has had very successful business because of the space launches. And tourist that came to Florida just to see space launch use most of there spending money in Brevard county so NASA helps with Florida’s tourism. NASA location in Florida, has resulted in many jobs. Jobs are also a big thing that NASA has helped with giving unemployed people in Florida an option to apply for NASA. Also astronomers in Florida that may be out of job right now be able to get a job at NASA. So NASA has really helped Florida's economy and the amount of unemployed people in Florida. In conclusion, NASA has mostly only had good affects on Florida’s economy. The only thing that has hurt Florida’s economy was when the some of NASA was shut down due to government founding. Over all NASA has had a very good influence in Florida’s economy. To the help of NASA also the technology of Florida has increased because of were it is stationed in Florida. In the end, NASA has just helped Florida's economy a lot.

  105. NASA and Florida

NASA had a big part of Florida and its culture for many years especially in the 1960s. One major space center is called “Kennedy Space Center also known as (KSC).” This is located in Orlando Fl. This is not where all the activities happen. For example a major supplier would be Marshall Space Flight which supports Main Engine or (SSME). Now we shall talk about employment.

The employment in Florida’s space center: There were over 14,000 on site workers in NASA Florida or in Kennedy Space Center. There were 494 workers excluded due to Obamas slam on the NASA industry. The exclusion included 209 lease tenants and culinary staff. This also included 38% of the visitor center staff which was 285 people. A lot of people lost their jobs not only in Kennedy space center but also in other NASA programs.
The earnings at Kennedy Space Center: The income for Kennedy Space Center was about 1.1 billion dollars. This paid workers from other counties too. This money paid people like engineers, scientist, and technicians. An average salary for a worker is 37,000 dollars except a work force worker which gets paid 77,000 dollars, which is twice as much money.

The NASA’s History in Florida: On April 1st 1960 the first successful satellite was sent into space to monitor Earth’s weather. On April 11-17th Apollo 13 oxygen tank was damage while in space and the crew members returned safely back. On December 7-19 Apollo was 17 was the last Apollo mission. In 2012 Obama shuts down part of NASA making a lot of people losing their jobs.

You see NASA was a big part of our economy making it one percent of our GDP of America. It was a big part of our history. It gave people jobs. We had missions. NASA is how we came up with the technology we had today. Now that its shut down our history is not part of us. What are we without NASA?

NASA was formed in July 29,1958.NASA has affected our lives because we know on where we are in the world and without NASA's staff looking for more planets with the help of robots and spacemen going to space to put new repairs on the International Space Station.NASA has been with us for 50 years and in those 50 years they have helped have a better outlook in space.
Plus NASA has taught us about so many things like other planets, asteroids, and even meteors, and even that there are other galaxies around our own.Basically to put it without NASA we wouldn't even know whats out there in the vastness of space.
NASA had to shut down within the year of 2011 because our poor economic government did not have enough funds to fund anymore space missions. This really does not mean the end of NASA forever,we only have parts of it gone not the whole facility, and the only parts that are not working are the space shuttles that's all. Some places in Florida that had benefited more than others like Brevard county would be an example that has really benefited to NASA,also another part of region of Florida its really in the central regions of Florida and pretty much all of Florida anyway.
NASA has really helped us all in this state of Florida, especially helping with the state's economy. In the year of 2007,NASA had put in 1.78 billion dollars within Florida's economic government. This is usually a lot just to put into one organization. Also in Brevard county NASA had helped Florida's economy by only using 1.66 billion dollars, and it was all only in that county. There have been a bunch of benefits that NASA has done for us.

  108. NASA has a huge impact on our Culture and Economy, both in good ways and bad. NASA was founded on July 29, 1958, without this great company i'm sure we wouldn't even know half of what we know today. NASA has created space shuttles, probes, robots, telescopes and many more great things that have helped us to better our knowledge on Space and everything else around it.

Economy is greatly affected by NASA because of how much the new technology cost to create everything they have used to research space. But in my opinion its money well spent, because we waste our time and money on other useless things. Why not spend time doing something useful that's gonna help us to be more advanced in knowledge? Therefore it was really sad that NASA was shut down in 2011 due to our poor economy, sadly the government just couldn't afford anymore space exploration.

NASA is still around, only certain branches of it were closed. Hopefully we can better our economy and try to bring NASA back in and continue the research. NASA was not only good for research, but for business and attraction as well. The NASA research centers and museums have attracted many tourists ad people interested in learning more about space. So people like that, still have a chance too learn lot of important and interesting things about space. Also, those places are bringing in more money and slow working to bring all of NASA back.

NASA is a huge Company, so when the branch of NASA was closed MANY people got fired. Over 14,000 men and women were working for NASA in Florida. Around 500 workers lost there jobs because of it being closed down. Jobs are a big issue right now in the world, and them people losing their job was probably very hard for them.space center but also in other NASA programs.

NASA has made a huge difference in the world, not only for research purposes but on peoples life's too. They should defiantly bring all of NASA back and continue on with their jobs. To better our knowledge, and continue to change people's lives. NASA was well money spent and still will be.

  109. President Obama stopped space exploration because he didn’t want to endanger any more people. Plus because of the loss of two space ships earlier. When it stopped it would’ve saved lives and lots of money and lives and the traveler’s family wouldn’t have to worry about them and their safety. To me they should’ve stopped it earlier because of Apollo 14 they almost died but they got lucky. It especially has impacts on the people of Florida because they don’t know what’s happening to them. It was a good thing to stop it and now they can send robots into space.
Imagine the money we can save since space exploration has been done, we can use that money to send supplies and food to those countries that are in need. Lots of people lost their jobs since NASA has been shut down, but it could be a good thing for the people of Florida because now they won’t have reporters in their way questioning them about this. Space travel has helped us because with the satellites they send it can tell us what’s out there like asteroids coming our way. Some of our parent’s tax money goes towards Florida and we have lots of money which we could do great things with. Plus the people at NASA make more money than a average citizen in Florida, they make close to 100,000$. With the money we have now we can do something smart with it.
There are plenty of workers there but it really effects them because they have gotten so use to it they love their jobs but losing it is a major blow to the stomach to them. They had to go to the best colleges to get where they are now but now they lost their jobs and wonder what to do now. The entire health test they had to go through just to make sure that they were healthy enough to go, they don’t like being told they can’t go because it’s their job to. The government wasn’t wasting money by space exploration it actually helped us. Almost 10,000 people worked at NASA and for them to lose their jobs hurt them badly.
The money could be used to help make new jobs for people who have been laid off, even the people who didn’t work for NASA are affected because they want to know what’s going on and happening there. They should talk about it more before just rushing into it and talk to the people at NASA who worked and loved their jobs. There are positive things about it like the Kennedy Space Center attracts lots of tourist but there are kids who want to be like them and now they can’t do it because it’s been shut down. They could also use the money for a better education for the students who really want to go to a college.

Nasa has made a huge difference in the world, not only for research purposes but on peoples life's too. They should defiantly bring all of Nasa back and continue on with their jobs. To better our knowledge, and continue to change people's lives. Nasa was a good program and we need to try and get it back.

NASA has been around for many years, it has been around for almost 40 years. Some people in our economy think that having NASA is very important because it helps with so many things. It has helped with jobs and tourism. But sometimes people don’t see when the things go bad or when then can hurt the economy. NASA has help many people in their life by giving them jobs and having them explore and figure out what they discover. There are so many thing that’s NASA has help invent like the space shuttle and all the different type of technology that it takes to be built into that. It takes a lot of work and skills to be able to do all that. NASA has made a big impact on us and the world, without NASA we wouldn’t have been able to view many thing that are out in space. NASA will be around for many years, even if they stop going up.
In the year 1981 was when NASA first started going up into outer space in a shuttle. When they first went up into space it cost a lot of money for them to do that. It coasted around 1.7 billion dollars to just create the shuttle only. That’s not even counting how much it is going to cost to be able to launch it up into space. There has been a total of 7 space shuttles sent up into space through the space program. To build all these space shuttles it coasted around 11.7 billion dollars.
There are many other economic effects that was pretty simple. Once they shut down the NASA’s explorations to outer space, there were over 500 people that lost there job. This was Obamas choice because he said it was better for our economy. There were many family’s that suffered from this, because they were all depending on their family member who was in NASA to live off what they were getting paid. Many people that were not in the NASA were very devastated because they totally stop doing the space shuttle launches. There were people in NASA that worked so hard to get the job at NASA but then they end up losing it.
Another effect that NASA has on space exploration on the economy and culture of Florida is that they have societal impact of the space age. NASA has researched, and found new ways and new things that could one day be very helpful to us. Education is a significant aspect of Florida that needs improvement in raises of wages and new materials like textbooks, technology, and online resources. On the other hand, many people believe that the government is wasting money by using it for the space program. Many missions have succeeded in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Without the Kennedy Space Center and NASA our economy would probably lack in what it does not this space center brings in huge revenue into the state of Florida and in the separate counties. There are also bad effects from the different cultures that NASA and space exploration is bringing into Florida. With so many different cultures coming in and out of Florida because of the space exploration and NASA Florida starts to lose the ties that it had originally. We are putting the lives of the astronauts on the line and risking them by putting them out in space

NASA has impacted Florida’s economy in a lot of ways. For instance alot of people come to see shuttle launches and it’s a tourist attraction. Nasa has sent 12 men to the moon. Nasa is going through a budget cut at the moment tho.
NASA impacts the economy because people from all over come to see shuttle launches. Shuttles are really neat to watch, some people know the astronauts.Shuttle launches take place in cape Canaveral FL. They have a place you can go in and spins you around like the astronauts.
Another way NASA impacts Fl. is that it has sent a lot of people and satellites into space. So that we can see what space is like and NASA gets money it. Nasa wants to do a trip to mars but don't know when they will.so this doesn't help our economy.
